The history of gourmet coffee in Aurora, Colorado can be traced back to the early 1800s. Coffee was a popular drink in those days and people from throughout the area would come to local roasters to purchase their favorite beans. In 1865, John McNaught started his own coffee business in Aurora. He was the first person to roast and package coffee specifically for customers in Aurora. Over the years, McNaught's company grew and became one of the most well-known and respected roasters in the area. In 1912, Chicago businessman Harry Haines opened a roastery in Aurora called The Haines Coffee Company. This company became one of the leading roasters in Colorado and eventually operated multiple stores throughout western Colorado. In 1968, The Haines Coffee Company merged with another Chicago-based company, The Roasterie Co., which led to increased production and growth for both companies. By 1975, The Roasterie Co.'s community store had been closed down by city regulations and its remaining assets were sold off to two other businessmen who reopened it as Gourmet Coffee & More Incorporated. Gourmet Coffee & More continued operations until 2003 when they merged with another small grocery chain, Supervalu Inc., whose ownership changed several times until 2011 when they were bought out by Amazon Web Services subsidiary Simple Storage Solutions LLC (S3). As part of this acquisition, Amazon assigned Gourmet Coffee & More's manufacturing facilities located outside of Denver to S3's plant on 15 Mile Drive south of Aurora that employs about 350 people making espresso drinks, teas and cocoa products under various brand names including Christian Dior CUPS®, La Colombe®, Stumptown® Café du MondeTM .

In 1892, George Classen founded the Aurora Coffee Company. Classesen was a coffee entrepreneur who started small roasting businesses in Aurora and Westminster. The company grew rapidly and by 1908 they had opened a second store on State Street in Westminster. One of the first things that Classen did when he took over the company was to purchase land at 14th Avenue and Yorktown Road to build his own coffee plantation. This allowed him to roast his own beans and create consistent quality products across all of his stores. Over time, Classen's plantations expanded as well, eventually producing over 1 million pounds of coffee each year. By 1915, Classen's company had become one of the largest coffee companies in Colorado; their products were widely available throughout the state and they employed over 100 people. However, after World War I classesen decided to sell his business assets back to his investors for cash; this caused further decline in sales as consumers shifted their allegiance towards more affordable caffeine options such as tea or instant coffees However, despite these setbacks,Classen's legacy is still remembered today as one of Colorado's most successful entrepreneurs – he helped start what is now known as Starbucks Coffee Company from humble beginnings in Seattle’s Pike Place Market

The ski resort industry began to take shape in post-World War II America with Summit County becoming one of the earliest areas to develop skiing tourism. By 1957, Summit County had become home to six ski resorts: Aspen (1957), Beaver Creek (1958), Deer Lodge (1959), Gold Rush (1960), Keystone Mountain Resort (1962) and North Face Village Resort (1963). These resorts produced an estimated 1 million visitors each year during their peak years; however, since they closed down or merged over time these totals may have been even higher given that Ski Chalet’s website does not list any mentions of any other Aspen/Beaver Creek Resorts being open at that time! In addition to these six main lift operators there were numerous independent operators throughout Weld and Douglas counties who serviced mostly institutionalized users with limited access to slopes outside their compounds; this provided more opportunities for crossCountry skiing than ever before! After more than 20 years Alpine Meadows shuttered operations December 31st 2006 citing a lack of profitability due largely to increased competition from outdoors activities such as backpacking, whitewater rafting & fishing along Colorado’s Front Range outside Keystone mountain resort . However some reopened operations during 2007 thru 2009 due various issues such as weatherproofing trails around resort perimeter following repairs done by contractor Snow Plow Northwest who maintain trail width consistent w/road conditions Finally Uponclosure Of Alpine Meadows Resort , many OutCrossers Flocked To Keystone Mtn Resort Where Trails Are Still maintained At Widest Possible Width Which Allows For All sorts Of Adventures Outside The boundaries Of Main Resorts
