When the United States Air Force first arrived in Brighton, Colorado in 1948, it was a small town of about 1,500 people. By the early 1960s, however, the Air Force had established itself as an important and powerful institution in this community. The Air Force base has been in Brighton since 1951 and is home to one of the most complex airfields in North America. It is also home to two nuclear weapons storage silos and four B-52 bombers. The Base has played a significant role in the history of both Brighton and Colorado. On July 20th, 1948, when General James Gavin became Commander of United States Forces Europe (USFORE), he ordered that all military property be moved from RAF Bentwaters to USAFB at Brighton. This move marked the beginning of an era where USAAF personnel would play a critical role in American security operations throughout Europe. The Base has been a vital part of America's Cold War strategy ever since. Today, the USAF operates three main units within Innsbruck AFB:the 427th Bomb Wing (4700 sq ft), which is responsible for providing strategic bombardment services over Germany;the 469th Airlift Wing (6000 sq ft) which provides transportation support for various Defense Department missions;andthe 902d Signals Squadron (2700 sq ft) which provides electronic warfare capabilities to NATO allies across Europe

Brighton, Colorado is a small town in the United States located in Navajo County. The population was 703 at the 2000 census. The town is named after Brighton, England, where it was settled by American pioneers in the mid-19th century. Today, Brighton is a small but vibrant community with a rich history and culture. The first settlers to Brighton were part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805. The town was founded on July 10, 1859 by John A. Weir and his family. In 1865, General Ulysses S. Grant visited Brighton while on his way to meet Indian Chief Sacagawea at Fort Laramie in Wyoming Territory. Grants visit marked the beginning of what would be an important era for Brighton as it became one of the largest U.S.–Mexico border crossings ever established. Brighton experienced significant growth during its early years as a result of its location on Route 66 and its relation to Mexico City through trade routes that crossed both borders frequently. Over time, however, California began becoming more populous and demand for goods from Mexican citizens increased; this led to decreased trade between America and Mexico City encouraging development within Brighton itself instead of away from it In 1976, when Colorado entered into statehood, Brighton became one of only two towns within Navajo County that did not join the newly created county government until 1981 Since then, Brighton has seen continued growth with many new businesses opening up throughout the year including several restaurants and cafes along with retail stores such as Barnes & Noble and Macy’s In addition to its burgeoning economy there are also many cultural institutions located within or adjacent to town which include: The Arboretum (opened in 1990), Pueblo de las Animas Museum (opened in 2001), The Cultural Center (opened in 2003) as well as Park Plaza Elementary School which houses both primary and secondary schools Plains View Baptist Church has been serving residents since 1870 though services have primarily been given from their main building on Main Street since 1966 . Despite these advances there continue to be areas where progress is needed such as increasing access to healthcare options for all locals including affordable rates for health insurance especially for those living below poverty lines ; improving overall transportation options so people can easily get around; creating more jobs opportunities outside of tourism so businesses can thrive outside of tourism; continuing education opportunities available through local colleges/universities; making sure energy needs are taken into consideration when planning developments/planning infrastructure such as stormwater systems ; adding more diversity into workforce through initiatives like job training programs specifically targeting different age ranges etc .)

The USAF has been providing Combat Support and Service Delivery roles to fellow member nations since World War II. Inactivation once again occurred effective 20 September 1995 when Headquarters USAF discontinued its Tactical Commands/Air Forces command structure which had been eliminated as part of realignment within DOD following Operation Desert Storm and dissolution of AFGIs (the Tactical Commands being reassigned directly to their respective commands).
