The Coast Guard is a vital part of society and the economy in many ways. From providing law enforcement, search and rescue, and other emergency services to keeping our coastline safe from harm, the Coast Guard has been an important part of Brighton's community for over 100 years. The history of the Coast Guard in Brighton began with a group of fishermen who pooled their resources to form a company to help protect coastal shipping. The company was called the Brighton Fishermen's Protective League (BFPL). In 1915, BFPL merged with another organization, the American Fisheries Society (AFS), to create what is now known as the American Coast Guard. In 1923, America's first commercial harbor patrol was established in Vancouver Harbor when the US Customs Service took over duties from BFPL. This service helped keep precursor communities safe during early 21st century tsunamis that hit Japan hard. After years of evolution, today’s coast guard comes complete with both law enforcement and Search and Rescue capabilities. These capabilities are essential during disasters such as hurricanes or earthquakes that can cause extensive damage to coastal infrastructure or human lives. Since its inception, CBP has put itself through many changes that have benefited it as well as our local communities. One significant change came about after 9/11 when authorities realized they needed more equipment and personnel to respond quickly to events like those in New York City and Washington D.C.—a trend that continues today. Additionally,CBP developed its own social media platform which helps connect officers with citizens around the world who need help breaking stride during emergencies or just wantto share photos from their day-to-day life on shorelines all around America!

Brighton, Colorado is a small town in Eagle County, Colorado. The population was 1,890 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Eagle County and part of the Park City metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Brighton were traders from Peru who landed on Pueblo Bonito Island in 1602. They named their island Brighton because they saw a ship with Englishmen on it as they sailed by. In 1876, a post office was established at Brighton and remained in operation until 1914. The town began to grow when local farmers decided to build a cotton gin and other mills in the early 1800s. The town's economy changed when oil discoveries were made near Brighton in 1901. The discovery led to an increase in business and development in the town. In 1907, the US Post Office built its first fire station here which continues to be used today. Today, Brighton is home to many businesses including two banks (one national), three restaurants/bars, two health clubs/spas, four schools (grades Pre-K through 12th grades), one library (with over 50 books), and one parade every year on Memorial Day weekend!
The Coast Guard gift history goes back to the early days of the Coast Guard. The service was founded on December 14, 1917 when President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill that created the organization. At its inception, the Coast Guard had only six boats and two officers. However, over time, the Coast Guard grew and changed its organizational structure. In 1949, itPurchase custom made coasters for $3 each from a local manufacturer called America's Cup Line. In 1951, Congress passed an act authorizing the creation of a coast guard cutter - which would be known as USCGC(L) Alaskan (AO-1). On June 6th of that year, USCGC(L) Alaskan became operational at Fort Worth Texas and began patrols off the California coast. In 1957, another Act authorizethe purchase of four more USCGC(L)s - this time called CGEE(L)- these would become known as CGCHAlaska (AO-2), CGCHOregon (AO-3), CGCHNewfoundland (AO-4) and finally CGCHHawaii (AO-5). With these new vessels in place, Operation Highjump commenced on July 1st 1958 and lasted for three weeks. During this operation, twenty nine patrol boats were sent out to search for Nazi Germany’s U-boat fleet off New England. This was one of the largest underway operations ever undertaken by the Coast Guard and resulted in twelve German submarines being captured or destroyed. In 1962 Congress passed an act authorizing USDOCOM to establish a program entitled “Operation Neptune” which would provide funding for coastal security along America's coastline For years afterwards The Coast Guard continued to receive funding under this program including funding for purchasing more patrol vessels which included USS Swallow (CG 77), USS Ponce (CG 78), USS Proctor (CG 79), USS San Francisco Bay Bridge Patrol Service Squadron One located at Point Reyes Station CA;and most recently – USNS John F Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum has been providing Coastal Security Vessels thru theiravy store

Brighton, Colorado is a town in County of San Juan and has a population of about 1,500 people. The first settler in what is now Brighton was George Dyer who arrived on horseback in 1876. He built a cabin on the east side of the current town square. In 1877, Prentice Hendricks settled in what is now Brighton and built a log cabin. In 1888, Harry Aiken founded the Aiken Hardware store which still stands today and served as the basis for much of the town's unique commercial infrastructure. The store also became one of the few stores open during prohibition which helped to define Brighton as an "illegal" community. The first post office was established in Brighton on October 15, 1889. The name change to its present form - Brighton Colorado - occurred on November 3, 1907 when John Fenton became postmaster. From 1907 until 1957, it was again called Hastings California before becoming Brighton Colorado again on July 1st, 1957
