In 1908, the company merged with another Denver-based coffee company, The Java House Coffee Co., to form theDenver-based COFCO Corporation. In 1960, COFCO was acquired by J.P. Morgan & Company. In 1969, COFCO merged with American Coffee Industries (AIC) to form Alliant International Incorporated (AI).
Commerce City, Colorado is a city in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 453 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. Commerce City was founded in 1867 as a small trading post on the Arkansas River by Major General George Armstrong Custer and his unit of the 9th Cavalry Regiment. The post became a grain shipping center and depot for wagon trains carrying goods from Nebraska to Denver. A branch of the Northern Pacific Railroad reached Commerce City in 1885. In 1907, Commerce City incorporated as an independent city under the name of Aurora. The city experienced significant growth during World War II with its production of ammunition for military purposes and its role as a transportation hub for munitions manufacturers across Colorado and Wyoming. After the war, Commerce City transitioned into anattractive urban area with high-rise apartment buildings and shopping malls becoming popular features. However, economic decline in 2000 led to downtown development being scaled back while new housing developments were built along I-25 east of town near Interstate 25business parks like Tyson's Corner Park and Gateway Park were developed adjacent to busy Interstate 25 exit ramps that made it difficult for pedestrians or cyclists to reach their destinations without leaving town altogether

Commerce City is a census-designated place (CDP) in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Collins–Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Commerce City was first settled by fur traders in the late 18th century. One of the first post offices in what is now Commerce City was established on July 6, 1868, under the name "Fremont". A post office was moved to its present location on Main Street in 1872. The town's incorporation took place on December 12, 1902. During World War II, Commerce City became an important munitions production center. More than one million rounds of ammunition were produced here during the war. The economic center of Commerce City has been shifted more recently to downtown Fort Collins but much of its history can be found throughout the community including some well-preserved pioneer buildings and street names such as Fourth Street and Sixth Avenue
