Denver, Colorado is known for its coffee culture and artisans who produce great coffee. Coffee was first brewed in the Rocky Mountains region of Colorado in the 1800s. The area now known as Denver was founded by surveyors in 1858 and became a city in 1872. The city began to grow rapidly thanks to its location on the main transportation route between New York City and Mexico City. This allowed Denver to become one of the most important cities in America during the 19th century. The coffee industry in Denver began to grow rapidly after World War I when soldiers returning from fighting abroad brought back beans that they had grown themselves. Over time, other businesses sprang up around coffee production including bakery and lunchroom service providers, grocery stores, and hotels. By the 1940s, coffee production had reached its peak with more than 1 million metric tons exported annually. However, because of technological advances, coffee production began to decline throughout the 1960s and 1970s due to increased competition from other agricultural products such as corn and soybeans. However, beginning in the 1990s a new era of growth has begun for artisan coffee within Denver. Since then, several small businesses have started up around espresso-based drinks called “coffeeshops” which serve delicious hand-roasted product made by local farmers along with snacks and pastries from local bakeries (sometimes including vegan options). These cafes have helped revive interest in artisanal Coffee Culture within Denver – currently it accounts for about 10% of all retail sales statewide! These cafés offer unique experiences not found at typical chain restaurants where you can try different types of roasted beverages (espresso or latte), savor sweet snacks/pastries (usually baked goods), listen to music while drinking your favorite beverage(s), take pictures with your friends/family members while enjoying a cup of joe or espresso, etc… It’s truly an amazing way to spend some quality time inside!

The new town was located about northeast of Lakewood and east of Golden Valley Ranching Road on what were then rancho grants from Mexico to John Custer and other US Army officers after his 1865 victory over Pawnee Indian Chief Crazy Horse at Little Bighorn Creek campground near present-day Telluride Mountain Resort Park. The first permanent settler in Denver was Lorenzo Sanchez who arrived December 20, 1876 from Socorro County north of Albuquerque with his family consisting of 20 families or "citizen soldiers" under Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Herriman’s command during what became known as “The Great Western War” against Spanish forces that winter across New Mexico and Arizona led by General Antonio López de Santa Anna On January 8th & 9th 1870 Mexican decree No 16 issued by President Antonio López de Santa Anna allows Utes to purchase land east side Platte River between 26 degrees North latitude and 109 degrees West longitude including all parts now within limits assigned thereto by act aforesaid….. After much debate among our citizens we elected Aldermen Gibbons & Hoyt February 10th 1870 providing for a Committee to be appointed to endeavor to get title or conveyance thereof thro out proper channels…..on motion duly seconded by Mr Aldermen Gibbons & Hoyt it passed with majority…. On March 23rd 1870 Appointment Order No 2 relative thereto having been transmitted herewith I certify that said order has become effective…. On this date Colo 8/12/1876Denver

However, it is generally agreed that the first coffee beans were roasted and sold in small villages near Rome in the 15th century. The growth of coffee commerce was spurred on by armed conflicts throughout Europe, which led to an increase in trade with Asia and Africa. Coffee began to be traded all over the world and became a popular beverage in many cultures. The first Starbucks opened its doors in Seattle, Washington, in 1997. It wasn’t until 1984 that espresso machines started becoming available for purchase. In 1985, Italian immigrants founded the first Java Bean Coffee Company outside of San Francisco. This was followed by Sweden’s Koffee Klubb (K-Cup) company in 1989 and Belgium’s Bodega Café in 1990. These businesses paved the way for artisanal coffeehouses across America during the late 1990s and 2000s. Today, there are over 1,500 artisanal coffee shops scattered around North America including locations inside major shopping centres such as Macy's Fifth Avenue or Sears Tower on Chicago's Magnificent Mile; at luxury hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton or InterContinental New York; and even within smaller towns and villages across America. Some of these cafes offer unique programming and experiences not typically found at other restaurants or cafes such as private dining rooms where customers can order their own drink while sitting down at a table with friends or family members; cocoa making demonstrations from start to finish; live music performances; craft beer tastings from local breweries; wineries flights of wine from different regions; cheese sampling blocks from various local farms/vendorsalongside bites from local restaurants
