Englewood is a small town located in Arapaho County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,806 at the 2010 census. Englewood is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Englewood residents were pioneers who arrived in 1868 from Missouri. They worked on a ranch and began to build their own home and businesses around 1870. In 1888, the name of the town was changed to honor Augustus B. Engle, an Oklahoma representative who had helped found Aurora, Colorado in 1876. In 1907, explorer George Custer was fatally attacked by Indians near Englewood and this event led to increased development in the area around the post office and schoolhouse. The post office changed its name to Englewood in 1912 after Jno.[2] By 1920 there were over 200 businesses inEnglewood with a population of over 2,500 people. The growth continued until World War II when many businesses closed due to wartime rationing which impacted farming as well as industry. After the war ended however, employment declined due to retirements and dislocations within America caused by peacetime warfare Korean War veteran migration into western US states such as Colorado Springs and Englewood[3]. In 1966, voters approved Measure U which created a new municipal government for Englewood while also authorizing annexation by neighboring Aurora Township[4]. On November 17th 1976,[5] Aurora Township annexed all of what is now eastern Arapaho County including parts of western Douglas County including Englewoods small community (population: 1,806). This change would result in an approximately one hundred percent increase in population density within municipality boundaries; however no annexation applications have been filed since then because residents elected not to annex themselves further into other municipalities during local elections held each year following annexation.[6][7]

Englewood, Colorado is a small town in southern Colorado that was founded in 1887. It is located on the Englewood-Aurora Parkway, about 22 miles north of Denver and about 20 miles south of Aurora. The population was 12,902 at the 2010 census. The town was named after George A. Engle, an American politician who served as United States Representative from Colorado from 1903 to 1907 and as Mayor of Englewood from 1909 to 1913. In 1907, he also served as president of the United States Railway Commission. The first post office in Englewood was established in 1887, and its name changed to Englewood in 1902. The first store opened in 1889. By 1910, there were six businesses open in the town with a total population of 914. The construction of the Aurora Lake reservoir increased water supply for Englewood by thirty percent and stimulated economic growth within the community thanks to irrigation projects undertaken by local farmers In 1916, Englewood became one of five towns incorporated into Auraria County pursuant to an act passed by Congress which created Auraria County . Incorporation into Auraria County allowed for more development opportunities for residents within its boundaries due to greater transportation access available through Aurora Junction . In 1924, Rocky Mountain Electric Company began providing power to residents ofEnglewood using a private power plant east of town . By 1927, Rocky Mountain Electric Company had become part ofDenver-based Denver Public Power Corporation (DPPC). DPPC initiated numerousImprovementsToTheTownOfEngle wood including re-striping streets and widening avenues; additions ToTheWater Tower; new parks;and new housing developments such as Golden Hills and Willow Park
The Englewood community was founded in 1871 by John and Mary Englewood. TheEnglewood Post Office moved to its current location in 1907. In the early 1900s, Englewood became a thriving agricultural center with many small businesses. In the 1930s, Englewood experienced rapid growth as a result of the construction of the Interstate 25 freeway. Today, Englewood is a highly diverse community with a population of over 50,000 people.
