Additionally, many large commercial enterprises such as J&L Mfg., First National Bank & Trust Company (founded by Jameson Orr), Inland Steel Corporation (formed by Arthur Andersen), United States Rubber Co., Pepsi Cola Bottling Plant No. 2 opened up shop hereabouts in 1957 which continues to operate today as PepsiCo USA Inc.. Since annexation by Fort Collins in 1996, most major businesses have relocated outgrowing the old industrial areas near I-25/UCO Rd.. In recent years there have been efforts made to revive some aspects of Evans’s past including restoration work on Weir Park which includes hiking trails and interpretive exhibits; development around airport road into a mixed-use neighborhood; and renaming several streets after notable local figures or contributors to Evans’s history like Mayor Weir or First National Bank founder Jameson Orr
