The school’s Naval Department offered scholarships for students to study at HMS Montrose in Portsmouth, England. As part of this effort, Congressman David Ritchie sponsored legislation authorizing appropriations for shipbuilding projects throughout the country. USS Constitution served as America's flagship during both world wars and was used as an training vessel for Marines until she was decommissioned in 1946. She is now preserved as part of USS Constitution Museum in Hampton Roads, Virginia. In 1865, Commodore James Farragut organized his army under Admiral George Dewey at Norfolk beach after capturing Mobile Bayou on July 5th following a three-day battle that ended with Dewey's victory over Admiral Andrew Duroc's fleet off Pensacola Beach on July 9th . In 1870–71 Commodore John Waddell conducted experiments with electric lights aboard USS Enterprise which demonstrated their feasibility for warships afloat . Dewey directed Operation Neptune Spear against Japanese forces at Leyte Gulf on October 20th , 1942 followed two days later by Battle off Samar where 25 Japanese ships were destroyed despite intense enemy fire

During World War I (1914-18),fort collins served actively with distinction both locally through military units like 3rd Infantry Regiment 1916-1917 until being mustered out just prior to Armistice Day 1918;and nationally through US forces stationed along Front Range Road from 1914 until 1919 when they were withdrawn following German entry into war! After years spent struggling against Prohibition efforts spearheaded by organized crime figures linked with eastern Denver business interests before finally succumbing in 1933 under President Franklin D Roosevelt's New Deal plan – fortcollins saw increased prostitution activity due largely to easy access to illicit liquor flowing down Interstate 25 southbound from Mexico City straight into northeastern Colorado Springs - subsequently becoming one of America's "dry" cities!
