The Colorado Air National Guard operates the Fountain Aircrew Museum in Fountain, Colorado. The museum is located on the grounds of the former Colorado State Aviation Museum which was closed in 2001. The museum has a collection of air force deployed gifts from around the world. In 1951, when the United States Air Force activated its first aircrew training school at Lackland AFB, Texas, it transferred two Consolidated C-47 proficiency airplanes to Fountain AB for use as a training unit. In 1957, when USAF Station Northrop Grumman moved from San Antonio to Gillespie Airport just east of Fountain, Colo., two Boeing 727-200s were leased from Northwest Airlines and operated by USAF School of Aeronautics students at Fountain until 1960 when they were reassigned to CIA School of Intelligence flying De Havilland DH9's. From 1969 through 1976 three Beechcraft Baron aircraft served as part of USAF Squadron Fourteen (14) at Fountain while another Beechcraft Baron served as an auxiliary transport squadron at RAF Lakenheath until 1990 when it was transferred to USMC Marine Corps Base Hawaii and redesignated Marine Aircraft Group Two (MAG 2). Withdrawal of USAF units began in 1991 and no more Boeing 727-200s were leased or operated by the Air Force; all aircraft were returned to their original owners and stored at various locations around the country. By 1994 only one hangar remained vacant at Lackland AFB with all planes being stored there including two Douglas DC-8s that sharing one hangar space with four McDonnell Douglas DC-10's that shared one hangar space with eight Martin Marietta OO-2's split into pairs; each pair having their own separate hangars. In 1996 five Canadair CRJ1100s stationed at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire England were transferred back home toColorado Springs after serving in Operation Desert Storm as cargo planes for supplies flown into Saudi Arabia via Bahrain airspace; all six aircraft had previously been storage parked near El Paso AB since 1988 without ever seeing flight service again! These six Canadair CRJ1100s became known as "The Six" because they flew together as a group sans pilots during Desert Storm! All these years later we have once again something unique happening - five CRJ1100 flights coming back home to fountain CO under new management - hope this trend continues

Fountain, Colorado is a town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 8,512 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Fountain was John Wesley Powell in 1876. The town of Fountain was founded on the site of what is now called "Powell's Park". In 1904, when Izaak Walton Lloyd became president of the United States and decided to promote wagon trains and other aspects of Americana through his "National Geographic" magazine column entitled "American Adventure", he donated land north of Interstate 25 (now US 22) for the development of Fountain Valley Park which now includes much rolling farmland. In 1928 Jameson Payne founded the Fountain Mineral Springs Hotel as a tourist stop on the route from Denver to Larimer County. After World War II many small businesses closed down due to hard times but by 1954 there were still 322 businesses in Fountain with a payroll over $100 million. With good agricultural soil and easy access to natural resources like waterfalls and streams, farming has been an importantstay ever since; today cattle ranchers drive their herds across country into Garfield County for hay production while smaller farmers grow tomatoes or other vegetables on parcels that are irrigated by lakes or rivers near their homes. The community has always had close relationships with nearby Aurora thanks to its location just minutes away by bus from both cities center as well as its strong linkage with commerce within Weld County itself - shopping malls such as Walmart and Costco are all located within minutes' walk or less east along I-25/Colorado State Highway 24 (Route 66).

At first it was just a few boxes of candy bars, but soon enough there were regular shipments arriving at RAF Marham airport in Norfolk! The Base Exchange Department quickly became overwhelmed with all of the new products being donated and so a store was set up on base near Rec Room 1 where shoppers could buy everything from cereal bars to beer cans! It wasn't long before visitors were coming from all over England simply because they couldn't find anything they wanted! In 1999, Colonel John Sperryrequestedthat donations be madein order tousehis unit's deployment Sgt Pepper style; this time it was wider rangeof items including books, CDs, clothes and hats! Not only did this help support our troops during their deployments but also raised money for our local community cause; which helped us cover many costs associated with supporting British Forces stationed here at home! In 2006 we started sending flowers too- something that our troops really appreciate! Our flower Shop Manager said "It really brings people together when they get flowers from us" And she's right- every soldier who receives a bouquet (or even just some wildflowers) loves one helluva lot more than one bunch of bought plants/vases!! Today we send about 250 different types OF flowers each year plus chocolates & coffee beans!!! Something for everyone!!!
