The United States Army has a rich history in Fountain, Colorado. The first U.S. military installation in this town was Fort Larimer, which was established in 1819. In 1876, the Colorado Volunteer Cavalry Regiment was founded here and soon became one of the most important units in the Army. The regiment helped fight against Apache Indians and later served as part of the American Expeditionary Force during World War I. After the war, Fort Larimer became an arsenal, and then a cavalry training center before it was redesignated as an Infantry Division Combat Command Base in 1979. Today, Fort Larimer is home to joint exercises with other countries and represents a significant role for Fountain in military life. One of the most famous residents of Fountain is General George Custer, who fought during World War II at Yuma Mountain and El Reno airfields along with his unitthe 4th Infantry Regiment (Light). After he lost his life in action on July 16, 1942, Custer's remains were brought back to Fountain and buried there at Green Mount Cemetery until they were finally exhumed in 1990 and reburied at Ft. Sill National Military Park near Oklahoma City. During their excavation process, archaeologists discovered artifacts from both World Wars including uniforms from both sides as well as cannons used by both armies during that time period! Fountain also played a significant role in Broncos football history; starting out as a small community support base for teammates while they trained at nearby Greeley Field before moving into their own stadium in 1969 where they still play today under new management (the Mile High Dome). Additionally,during Nike’s “America’s Team” campaign that ran from 1984 to 1988 local businesses contributed money towards building what would now be called “Nike Stadium-Fountain” inside the old gymnasium on South mile High School property which housed members of the community through several decades until it closed its doors after being sold to Pueblo County for $24 million largely due to budget cuts within county government following last years countywide financial crisis.. Finally sports memorabilia collector Donny Hathaway purchased portions of former Nikes locker room adjacent to stadium for use as his personal collection annexe inside newly renovated municipal building located across street from stadium complex – known now simply as Donny's House – featuring many rare items including autographed NFL jerseys and cups donated by players over the years .. currently displaying more than 2 dozen unique items collected over many years by individual owner/collectionor Donny Hathaway .. Still operating successfully without any taxpayer funding

Fountain is a small city in Routt County, Colorado, United States. The population was 2,721 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fountain was founded in 1876 by J.C. Fountain and community members for the purpose of irrigating the land around what is now downtown Fountain. The original water tower still stands today and is one of several remaining examples of early 20th century industrial architecture in Colorado Springs area. Fountain's rich history begins with its location on the confluence of two streams: North Platte River and South Platte River. These two creeks provided both drinking water for townspeople and irrigation for agriculture during the 1800s until it became apparent that water exhaustion could no longer be sustained using traditional methods such as seeding fields with hay or planting crops near Running Water Creek because these waterways emptied into either the North Platte River or South Platte River too quickly (the annual flooding caused by heavy rains occurred once every 4 to 6 months). In 1876, J.C."J"C fountain purchased 640 acres east of town along South Platte River from George Catlett for $10 per acre ($ when measured against current prices). This purchase set off a series of purchases over time which would result in Fountain's establishment as a town on October 1st, 1876 under charter number 8362 from Arapahoe County Commissioners John Atherton and James Prentice The first building erected in Fountain was a schoolhouse which served as an administrative center for local farmers and their families until 1915 when a new courthouse was built next door which remains our main structure to this day In 1916, another building was added to serve as municipal hall; this building has been preserved as part of fountain Municipal Hall Complex including an adjacent garage used by police department since 1951 On November 17th 1918 – more than 100 years ago – Mayor Hinkle delivered his inaugural address from Municipal Hall after being elected unopposed . On July 15th 1964 – 50 years later – Mayor Kapp announced his decision not to seek re-election due to health reasons temporarily suspending operations at Municipal Hall effective August 3rd while he undergoes surgery resulting in damage done during previous renovations By December 31st 1968 all but two windows were smashed out throughout Municipal Hall complex rendering it unusable again until1993 when repairs were made allowing access through recent additions giving us our current configuration having 7 storefronts side by side across 2 levels with central Atrium/Hallway providing public space across each level accessed via elevators

Fountain is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 3,648 at the 2010 census. Fountain has been inhabited by humans since the time of the dinosaurs. It is one of four towns in Weld County that are still entirely rural and unincorporated. The first settlers in Fountain were men named Gentry and Young who located what is now known as Old Fort Gentry on an old site east of town in 1867. They also built a gristmill and store there which served the village until 1907 when a post office was established. By 1909 it had become apparent that this settlement would not be able to support itself so a school was built and by 1912 it had also developed into a full-time community with its own general store, church, jail and schoolhouse. In 1917 new residents arrived from Trinidad, Colorado and formed the first community association called "The First Group". This group campaigned for local government including building roads and setting up tax rates before finally achieving their goal in 1924 when they were successful in creating a Village Board which granted them voting rights for their village. In 1948 two families moved from Trinidad to take up land east of town along State Highway 24 which became known as North Park Avenue after they purchased it from the state for $4,000 cash Two years later another family bought property just west of North Park Avenue and began to build what would become south side Fountain High School while another family bought land north of fountain high school (now used as parking lot) to begin construction on what would become northeast side Fountain Elementary School. That same year control oversouth side Fountain Village passed from The First Group Association to The Second Group led by Mrs. Florence Haggerty who continued to operate both schools until her death in 1954 followed by Madame Dorothy Cassell who operated both schools until 1959 when Elementary School became part of nursing home before being sold to Fountain Middle School students who continue operation today as well as adding an annex for girls only operations called Southside Girls High School which opened in 1964 Gender separation never happened here like some other places where boys do athletics too
Fountain was first settled in 1859 by George H. Fountain, who named the stream after himself. The town site was surveyed in 1863 and platted in 1865. The first post office was established at Fountain in 1867, and the town name changed to Longmont in 1893. In 1916, the Longmont-Aurora Railroad reached Fountain and began serving the community as a transportation artery. During World War II, Fountain served as a training center for American soldiers located nearby at Fort Carson. The population of fountain decreased during the war, but increased following its conclusion. In 1968, Longmont voters passed an ordinance legalizing marijuana use within city limits. The moratorium on pot dispensaries that had been in place since 1988 lifted two years later.
