The history of Coast Guard gift giving in Fountain, Colorado goes back to the early 1900s. The first Coast Guard Station was built on this site in 1907, and the present Coast Guard Barracks were constructed in 1951. The Coast Guard has played an important role in Fountain’s community since its inception. In 1912, the first fountain on campus was dedicated to Commodore John W. Sloat, Commandant of the Coast Guard at that time. The fountain continues to serve as a symbol of civic engagement for Fountain students and staff alike. In 1967, the first helicopter-borne Search and Rescue mission took place in Fountain when helicopters from Squadron Three searched for stranded boaters off Point Isabelle. Since then, Helicopter Flight One has been regularly providing search and rescue services during bitterly cold winter days or during high winds when other forms of transport are not available. Additionally, the helicopter squadron provides water skiing and ice skating opportunities for children at Basin Park located across from campus. In 2007, a new public beach was opened near Basin Park that is perfect for swimming and sunbathing; it is also home to a large playground area with swings, slides, towers and more!

The community was founded on a small stream called the "Fountain" because it was a source of water for their farm animals. Today, Fountain is a small, rural town with a population of around 500. In addition to its attractions, Fountain is also home to two churches - First Presbyterian and Second Baptist - as well as an elementary school and a high school.
The Coast Guard has been providing law enforcement, maritime safety, and emergency services for the people of the United States since 1879. One of the first organizations to be established within the Coast Guard was the Revenue cutter Service which was founded on May 25, 1881. The Revenue Cutter Service was responsible for patrolling the American coastline and making arrests of those who violated US maritime laws. In 1916, a new organization called the Patrol Boat Section was created to provide better protection for vessels navigating in coastal waters. The first patrol boat operated by the coast guard was called “Plymouth” and it served until 1936 when another agency, Coastal Security Force (CSF), took over its function. In 1954, a new organization called Naval Hydrographic Department (NHD) was founded to help improve underwater mapping data used by naval planners. In 1969, another organization called Rescue Squadron One (RSO 1) was established as a service to search for survivors after ships sunk or were lost in oceanic storms. This squadron provided support for both marine units and shorebased search & rescue helicopters during disasters such as hurricanes Katrina and Sandy in 2005 and 2012 respectively. Today, Coast Guard gift history can be traced back to 1898 when Congress passed an act authorizing gifts from private individuals within the service with specific goals in mind including promotion of patriotism and morale among troops serving abroad as well as promoting education about seamanship skills among American students living abroad. In particular we’d like to recognize three individuals who have given so much over recent years – retired Rear Admiral Harry Ladd (Ret.), Rear Commodore Rick Ziegler (Ret.), and Lieutenant Colonel Jeff Skiles (Ret.) – each having contributions that cannot be understated when it comes to supporting our institution both physically as well as emotionally! Each man has helped contribute significantly towards building strong relationships between our members as well as developing critical skills necessary for bothOur missions ashore and at home; something we are extremely grateful for!

Fountain is a small town in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,564 at the 2010 census. Fountain is located on the banks of the Animas River and is east of Aspen. It was named after John Fountaine, who settled there in 1875. The first post office in Fountain opened in 1881. The town was founded by George Stephenson and his family on October 17, 1886 as a railroad stop on the Larimer Road between Aspen and Westminster. A millstream called Fountain Creek ran through the town from its earliest days until it was diverted into a river near where current-day North Park now stands. In 1913, when Keystone Pipeline Company founder J.P. Morgan bought land east of Aspen to build an oil pipeline, he donated part of his estate for development within Fountain's limits as well as for research purposes at Denver University's School of Mines and Technology. In 1915, when builders began construction on Keystone's main line south from Aspen to Greeley, they discovered that water could be used instead of natural gas to power turbines for their new pipeline; this led to renamed Fountain "the Water City" because without suitable reservoirs to store water during winter months the project would have run afoul of local zoning laws then in effect prohibiting construction within 500 feet (150 m) of streams or other bodies of water streamed directly into downtownAspen). By 1917 most residents had moved away due to World War I shortages; however some returned during Prohibition years and built more permanent homes around 1922 when freshocations became easier due to improved transportation options and increased production at nearby Denver-based Union Carbide & Company's refinery just west of town Limits were set at grid squares adjoining county lines making it possible for people not living within limits but within certain boundaries (such as north Anaconda), vote even if they did not live near any public square or city limit boundary
Fountain is located in Weld County, Colorado. It was named for the Fountain of Youth, a location in Rome that was used as a summer resort by Europeans during the 1800s. The first settlers to the area were Mormons who arrived in 1849. In 1870, the town of Fountain was founded on the site of present-day downtown Fountain and became an important regional center for agriculture and cattle production. The city of Denver was incorporated in 1902 and slowly grew up around Fountain until it took over as the main commercial center in central Weld County in 1960.
