Fountain, Colorado is a small town located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The city was founded in 1859 by farmers who drove cattle and horses to Fort Collins for trade. By 1870, Fountain had a population of around 100 people. In 1907, the first coffee roasting plant was built in Fountain. Today, Fountain City has a thriving coffee industry with over 20 cafes and restaurants that serve fresh roasted coffee all day long. The history of fountain coffee began with Juan Ponce de Leon’s exploration of what is now known as Colorado in 1614. When he discovered Fountain Valley and its rich minerals, he decided to establish a permanent settlement there and named it Fountain after himself. After years of development and growth within the community, the first coffee roasting plant was built in 1907 on Main Street by Mr. Cramer from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. At that time, Coffee Roasters Incorporated (CR) was headquartered in Fountain City with four employees operating thirteen machines which produced an average of 95 pounds per hour of pure ground beans! Today CR employs over twenty-five individuals who roast fresh beans every day at their facility! The early pioneers who founded Fountain were entrepreneurs who saw opportunity where others saw only limitations: They invested money into developing this new town and started making money right away! Over time they've added other businesses including plumbing services, grocery shopping and more; but it's their espresso cafe that really shines – home to some delicious iced coffees too! Fountain is a small town in Arapaho County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Collins–Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fountain coffee was first roasted by farmers in 1889 on land that now includes the community of Anaconda. It continued to be roasted and sold locally until 1971 when it moved to what is now Aurora. In 1984, a group of local businessmen pooled their resources and purchased 350 acres (160 hectares) of farmland just south of the city limits in Fountain Valley for coffee planting. The beans were grown on high mountainside properties that offered stunning views of downtown Fort Collins and its namesake river valley below. Today, Fountain's three-acre coffee farm produces over 50 different types of coffee from all around the world including Ethiopian, Guatemalan and Columbian beans which are roasted fresh daily on site
Fountain is a town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 848 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greeley–Aurora Micropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Fountain" comes from the Rocky Mountains and was given to the town by General George Armstrong Custer as a Thank You gift after he helped to repel an Indian attack on Fort Laramie in 1868. In 1907, Fountain became home to Colorado's first state high school, which graduated its first class in 1909. In 1912, with construction of Interstate 25 complete and new residents moving into the area, Fountain began to grow rapidly and by 1920 it had reached 1,100 residents. In 1928, Fountain incorporated as a city and quickly resumed its rapid growth; by 1930 it had grown to 2,500 residents. By 1937 it had reached 4,000 residents; by 1945 it had become 6,000 residents. On November 3rd of that year (1945), during World War II (), Fountain became one of six communities in Weld County (along with Durango、Natrona Mesa、Asheville、Pueblo\/El Paso and Westminster) that were designated as Military Area Areas (MAA). In 1969-1970 Fenton Broadcasting Company opened up shop in what would be their last station before closing down due to financial troubles later that year while also transmitter located just outside of town on KY 424 Waco Canyon Rd
