There has been a military presence in Fountain since the early 1800s. The first military installation to be established in the area was Fort Lyon, which was created in 1846. The fort served as a garrison for Colorado Springs and the eastern plains of Colorado. It also played an important role in defending against Comanche and Apache raids. In 1864, Fort Carson was built north of Fountain on the site of what is now Longmont. This fort served as Headquarters for the 2nd Cavalry Division during the American Civil War. During its occupation,Fort Carson became known as “The Arsenal of Liberty” because it played an important role in supplying Union forces with arms and ammunition. In 1899, Fort Logan was authorized to be constructed on the south side of Fountain Creek. This fort was designed to serve as a training ground for new U.S Army officers and troops. It also served as a barracks for soldiers from surrounding counties. In 1915, Camp David was established near Junction City on Clear Creek River west of Ft Logan Base Camp. This camp housed more than 1,000 infantry soldiers and airmen from World War I who were being trained at home before deployment to fight in Europe In 1918-1919, Camp David functioned as both a training camp and command post for units engaged in operations within enemy territory during World War I In 1924-25, Colo Springs Municipal Airport opened when Fort Carson Air Force Base closed down In 1942-1945, Colt Ordnance Plant operated out of this plant During World War II it produced weapons such as bombs and shells For many years after war ended there were few permanent civilian occupants until recently when people moved into Fountain due to housing prices hereabouts Aftermath of 9/11 added another layer

Fountains is a city in the U.S. state of Colorado, and the county seat of Lafayette County. The population was 11,567 at the 2010 census. The city was founded on July 24, 1879 by citizens of Aurora and Loveland who combined their properties to form a town called Fountain. It was named for Denver's Foothills Park which had been purchased by James Hutton and others in 1875. The first post office opened in 1880, and the name change came six years later when it became part of the newly created Lafayette County. In 1907, Fountain merged with nearby Loveland to form a larger city with a population of over 20,000 people. In 1960, when Fountain became an incorporated municipality it had a population of just 730 people; however its growth continued as other municipalities within Lafayette County joined it over time (including Golden) until its current total reached 27thousand in 2000. Today, the economy is based largely on tourism which has helped make Fountain one of the most popular tourist destinations in central Colorado Springs. There are numerous cultural attractions including churches and museums as well as theaters and concerts that attract visitors from all around North America each year. Additionally, there are several large shopping malls located within walking distance of both downtown Fountain as well as more remote areas such as Garden City and Westminster/Aurora Hills outside of town limits
Fountain is a town in Pueblo County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,848 at the 2010 census. Fountain is located on the eastern edge of the Denver metropolitan area and is bordered to the north by I-25 and to the west by Kipling Heights. Fountain was founded in 1892 as a small community near Alta Mesa. The valley where it sits today was first inhabited by the Arapaho and Cheyenne people. On July 6, 1892, John Davenport became one of the charter members of Fountain when he sold his land for $10 to Jameson & Laughlin Coal Company. In 1912, Fountain had a post office with ZIP code 80118. It replaced Alta Mesa which had been closed down because of high water levels caused by a winter storm that year. The discovery of oil in nearby Anaconda Township made fountain an early location for industry but little development occurred until after World War II when gas production increased around Denver and other cities due to new methods such as fracking (the use of water mixed with natural gas to break up shale formations). Today, some 14 businesses employing over 350 workers are based in Fountain including seven engine manufacturing companies, three plastics manufacturers and two software developers among others. In recent years there has been an increasing focus on tourism as well as art appreciation within townspeople who appreciate both aspects from different perspectives; those who visit for pleasure or art enthusiasts who experience local history through hands-on activities such as painting or hiking trails laid out specifically for visitors during special events like Valentine's Day or Fourth Of July weekend just to name a few examples!

Fountain is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,946 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Weld County. Fountain was founded by George and Anna Fountain in 1876 as a station on the Colorado Central Railroad. In 1902, it became an incorporated town. The local economy depends on agriculture and ranching; however, recent growth has come from tourism. The first settler to arrive in Fountain was George Fountain himself who arrived with his family on July 25, 1876. He named the place "Fountain" after his home state of Virginia where he had been born two years earlier. After some testing of its water source and description by surveyors they decided to build a community there and named it after themselves - Anna Fountain married George's father-in-law John Waddell in early February 1877. The community grew rapidly due to new settlers arriving each week until within 6 months there were over 20 people living there. By October 3rd.,1877, most of the original buildings had been erected including a schoolhouse and post office which opened that same day with 5 residents using it as their first meeting place! In 1902 when the railroad line was rerouted through Aspen Junction northwest of Aspen (now Telluride), part of what used to be known as downtown Fountain changed hands multiple times before settling upon one man - Hiram Sibley who managed to keep everything running smoothly for about 15 years until his death in 1940 which left the town without a mayor or public service director for many years! After Hiram's death things started going downhill again with only occasional events like dances or carnivals keeping things alive but when word got out about nearbyAspen adventure resortreadytoboomthecommunityhadtorespondandby1950thetownhadnewmallandarestaurant completethistime! Today Fountain is one of few places still remaining from those days with unique architecture such as its stone clocktower which can be seen from anywhere in town and its namesake fountain - originally just an outdoor wellspring but now a popular tourist attraction frequented by all kinds of people both locals and tourists alike!
