Fountain, Colorado is a small town in the county of Mesa, Colorado. The population was 3,847 at the 2000 census. Fountain is home to two coffee roasters: Bullhead Coffee and Roastery and Friends of the Earth. In 1992, Bullhead Coffee opened its first store in Fountain and has since grown into one of the largest coffee roasters in the area. Friends of the Earth operates a similar store in nearby Golden. Bullhead Coffee began as an Equal Exchange source for beans in Fountain. The company has continued to roast its own beans and sell them through local restaurants and stores throughout Colorado. Today, Bullhead Coffee offers two types of coffee: light roasted beans for those who want a quick caffeine fix; dark roasted beans for those who appreciate complexity and flavor. Fountain's first espresso shop was founded by Angelo Zangrandi in 1978 with his wife Gayle Zangrandi as partners. The couple started out making espresso drinks from their house on Main Street before moving to their current location on Adobe Lane near US 20 east of I-25 in 1984. Angelo passed away in 2009 but his wife Gayle continues to operate her business today under her name, "Gayle's Espresso".

Fountain is a small town in Douglas County, Colorado. The population was 1,261 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the Fountain of Life located near the junction of State Highway 24 and U.S. Highway 26. It is also home to the Fountain Museum which opened in 2006 on Depot Street in downtown Fountain. The first people to live in this area were those who migrated from eastern Kansas during the gold rush of 1849-1850. They named their new land "Fountain" after a natural spring that they found nearby on their 3-day journey from Wichita Falls, Texas (then part of Mexico). By 1871, when it became an incorporated city, Fountain had a population of over 100 people and was one of four townships within Douglas County that voted to secede from Colorado statehood. In 1902, when Park City became an independent city and Fountain adopted its current name, it remained as one of only two cities in Douglas County with a municipally owned water system - the other being Longmont (later known as Denver). In 1976, residents approved annexation by Park City; however, due to objections from some residents about high water rates and lack of sewers service in Park City relative to nearby municipalities like Aspen and Golden Valley, Boulder County granted annexation instead on July 1st 1978 electors voting 66% for incorporation over 39% against incorporation; so fountain became part of Park City proper rather than annexed into Boulder County as desired by many residents." As much has changed since then including annexations by Durango and Telluride - both communities neighboring Fountain - Fountain's downtown core retains much pre-20th century character including art galleries/ museums along Main Street & Pumpkin Alley., several banks/ credit unions/ restaurants along Elm & Vine Streets., two churches (one Baptist) & post office all dating back more than 100 years each., while newer businesses have replaced some older ones making for a busy but diverse downtown scene typical throughout most large US cities today."

It was founded in 1876 by George Atwater and named for the Fountain of Youth on Manitou Pass. The first post office was established in Fountain in 1877. The current building was constructed in 1907 and is a two-story adobe structure with a gable roof. It has been used as a school, Masonic lodge, and restaurant. A local water well provides drinking water to the community. In 1898, one of the founders of Denver organized what became the Denver Civic Club to promote downtown business interests and increase tourism opportunities for the region. In 1902, Fountain began serving as an alternate site for the Colorado State Fairgrounds because that fair moved fromDenver's Golden Park to nearby 24th Street/Avenue Foothills after its founder's death). In 1916 both towns agreed to annex each other and become part of one municipality; however, annexation did not take place until 1952 when both Aspen and Fountain merged into Aspen-Mesa County. In 1951 residents of Fountain voted to name their new city after George Atwater due to his contribution to townhood development including work on its first library (founded in 1909) and original street grid which still exists today (It should be noted that Atwater never served as mayor or City Councilman). The recently completed $25 million renovation of fountain's main library includes restoration of all original ornamentation as well as replacement or refurbishment of most historic materials dating back over 100 years
