Fruita is located in the Rocky Mountains and has an elevation of 4,471 feet (1,362 m). The name "Fruita" comes from the Churcua language word meaning "place where there are grapes." The first settlers in this area were Spanish people who started a grape farm in 1785. In 1876 two brothers named George and John Berry founded a flour mill on the south side of Interstate 25 near Mount Carmel. The mill became Fruita's first school and also produced fruit juices and jams for local markets. In 1925 Fruita was incorporated as a town. A post office operated in Fruita from 1925 to 1951. In 1955, Fruita voters passed an ordinance establishing a fire department which stillOperates today under contract with the City of Greeley In 1957–1958 residents of nearby Telluride voted to dissolve their incorporation into Weld County so that they could become their own municipality

In 1847, an American company called Peet's Coffee Company was founded in Brooklyn, New York with a small lot of beans that it roasted and sold fresh. The cup of Joe has been around since the early 1800s! By the end of the 19th century, coffee had spread throughout Europe and North America. While some may argue over whether or not espresso should be considered coffee because it is brewed with water rather than ground beans, all can appreciate good quality Java Coffee from Italy or Brazilian Roasts from Brazil for their unique flavor profiles and smooth texture.
