At present there are numerous roasters operating within ATCO including Peet's Coffee Company (founded 1963), Starbucks Corporation (1989), Dunkin' Donuts Companies (1987-2008), and Caribou Coffee Co., Ltd. As each company grows its own line of products - both espresso and decaffeinated - they continue to develop their own unique flavor profiles that can only be found at these fine roasters. Greeley, Colorado is a small town in the Rocky Mountains of western Colorado. The population was 5,507 at the 2010 census. Greeley is located on the eastern border of Weld County and the southern edge of Arapaho County. It is bordered by Denver to the north, Lakewood to the east, Golden to the south, and Pueblo to the west. The first Europeans to visit Greeley were fur traders from Russia in 1819. They named it "Grizzly" because of its severe cold winters and bleak landscape. In 1824, John C. Fremont explored Greeley area with his army during his survey of western Colorado for Governor George Armstrong Custer's army during the Mexican-American War. After exploring most of what would become Greeley County, Fremont named it after himself – "Grizzly." In 1828 Bear Butte was climbed by Native Americans and claimed as their own by ranchers who called it "Butte Peak." In 1849 prospectors discovered gold near present-day Telluride while working on a railroad through this area. This led to an influx of people and businesses into Greeley over time as mining became more prevalent in this rugged region. The first post office in Greeley was established in 1860; it moved from Red Jacket Creek to its current location on State Street in 1865 when that part of Weld County was created from parts of Arapaho and Douglas counties. In 1870–71 Andrew Jenson built a sawmill along Mill Creek near what is now First Avenue North; this mill continues operation today as Central Valley Saw Mills Incorporated (CVS). By 1880s muchof what makes up modern Greeley had been developed including some 1,500 homes; downtown has since been redeveloped into a mixed use district with commercial space replacing residential buildings originally scattered throughout central plaza area bounded by Second Ave., Third Ave., Fourth Ave., Erie St., 16th St., Union Blvd., State Rd./I-25 W & Pkwy NW & MLK Jr.'s Freeway (now I-25 West), all within walking distance of one another for most residents either inside or outside city limits A major event in GreeLEY's history took place on Jan 6th 1909 when 100% literacy movement began here Doc Holliday preached sermons at local saloons calling for all white men Male Over 21 years old who could afford pistols go out Doubting Store windows preaching Nonviolence
