The history of the United States Army begins with its creation in 1775 as a response to the British Invasion. The Continental armed forces were formed in 1776, and by 1783, they had reached a size of 10,000 men. The first American War for Independence was fought in Lexington and Concord on April 19,1775. The Continental army lost at Bunker Hill on June 14th,1775. The Second American War for Independence was fought from September 26 to October 15th,1812. America’s first successful amphibious assault occurred at Yorktown on October 20th,1811. In 1836, the USArmy created the Infantry Regiment No. 5 (Light Infantry) which became known as “The Brownshirts” during the Mexican-American War because of their participation in that conflict. During World War I (1914-1918), America fielded over 120 divisions totaling over 1 million troops; however most of these units were disbanded after the war ended without achieving victory or defeat. After World War II (1939-1945), America again fielded a large number of divisions but this time they were used more offensively in Korea and Vietnam while also disbanding some units during peacetime periods such as cavalry and artillery brigades along with infantry regiments within brigadesized formations known as task forces called Dragoon troopers through Operation Desert Storm in 1990 and Iraq respectively). Finally during peacetime between 1946-1991 there was no significant USArmy military activity outside of contracts related to civil defense purposes such as supplying food rations to armies around the world or providing logistical support for NATO deployments when needed including Kosovo in 1999 and Afghanistan starting in 2001 One unique aspect about army gift history is that many gifts are still being given today even though their recipient may have retired or moved away from service within the past few years! The Greenwood Volunteer Infantry was an American infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the Civil War. It was organized on July 25, 1861, in Greenwood, Colorado. The unit fought in the Battle of Pea Ridge and at the Battle of Antietam. In 1865, it surrendered at Appomattox Court House.
Greenwood, Colorado is a small town in the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood metropolitan area and has a population of approximately 60,000. The Greenwood Village neighborhood is located in the center of Greenwood and contains many of the cultural attractions and businesses that make up its namesake. Other neighborhoods in Greenwood include Park Hill, North Park, South Park, and White Oak. The first known residents of Greenwood were Indian traders who came to the area from upstate New York in the 1840s. In 1892, Aurora became the first city in Colorado to be founded by white people when it was incorporated as a village adjacent to what is now Greenwood Village. The city annexed much of western Thornton County until 1903 when it ceded all but one block east of I-25 (the rest was annexed by Aurora) to Greenwood Village for municipal purposes only. In 1907, Dr. George Washington Morrison established his medical practice on East 42nd Street in what is now called Morrison Hall – one of the few buildings still standing from that time period in downtown Greenwood Village. Morrison Hall would continue to serve as an important medical facility into the 21st century; it currently houses The American School at Greenoudale Avenue & Newport Boulevard which offers education for infants through grade 12th grade as well as professional services such as acupuncture and physical therapy
