Greenwood is a small town in Larimer County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,581 at the 2010 census. Coffee became popularized in Greenwood after being introduced by an Italian immigrant named Angelo da Silva. Dos Santos and his wife Anita started buying coffee from Angelo da Silva in their grocery store in Greenwood on New Year's Day of 1919. Their first purchase was a pound of coffee for $1.50. Over time, they increased their purchases to two sacks of beans for $4 per week each. They also started selling coffee cups and mugs. In 1926, the first roastery opened in Greenwood and began manufacturing its own coffees under the name de la Torre Roastery LLC. That same year, they added espresso to their menu and began serving brunch every morning from 5am to 9am beginning with Angelo's specialties - pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant), ham and blue cheese tartlet, figsauce (a sweet Augustine sauce made from figsauce concentrate), orzotto alla Pennina (a thick paste made from egg yolks and Parmesan cheese) - until 1984 when it changed its name to La Colombe Roastery LLC due to trademark issues with another company that had been selling similar products under the same name for years
