In 1978, USS Holland arrived at the Naval Shipyard after serving as an amphibious assault ship during Operation Desert Storm. She was followed by USS Mesa Verde (LPD) in 1986 which served as America’s newest amphibious warfare ship. Since its inception, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam has been home to two of America’s most iconic warships:USS Constitution Museum & Museum of American History both opened their doors on July 1st 1987! It is no wonder that these museums have strong ties with the cities they are located in! The city of Lakewood also donated land for a new naval base which would house one of America’s largest maritime museums ever built - “Lakewood Naval Shipyards Museum & Visitor Center”opened its doors on September 14th 2002! Lakewood is a city in Colorado, United States. The population was 37,521 at the 2010 census. It is the second most populous city in Colorado and the fifth most populous city in the United States after Denver, New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Lakewood's boundaries are 5th Avenue to the east, Jefferson Boulevard to the north, Broadway to the west and South Street to the south. Lakewood was first settled by pioneers in 1875 as a small farming community on 8 acres (3 ha) of land along Clear Creek near what is now downtown Lakewood. In 1896 it became a consolidated municipality with Aspen and Arapahoe City; it had a population of 17,906 when it joined Aspen-Arapahoe. The merger resulted in two large cities with much commercial activity; as well as one of only three cities within 10 miles (16 km) of Boulder County without any incorporated businesses other than schools and government buildings. The growth of new subdivisions since incorporation has limited streetcar service between downtown Lakewood and neighborhoods on either side of Interstate 25 outside of town limits; however bus service does exist from Union Station inside town limits to nearby neighborhoods like Brighton Park and Thornton Park. In 2002 voters passed an ordinance allowing for open-space development adjacent to I-25 between 6th Avenue South and 14th Avenue North through annexation by neighboring Thornton Park; this opened up over 1 million square feet (100 m2) for residential development including more than 100 homes built since then. In 2006 voters approved an ordinance authorizing lakefront redevelopment along 4 blocks extending from 5th Avenue North downriver towards I-25; this project includes 3 dozen high rise apartment buildings rental Summit Place Apartments will occupy starting in fall 2013 with Phase 2 opening later that year followed by Phase 3 which houses office/retail space developed by Cushman & Wakefield under terms announced last week

This event is often cited as being one of the deadliest moments for service members on active duty – it was even considered by some people to be an unofficial war crimes trial for the Navy. Despite these tragedies however, there are still many appreciated naval deployments throughout history. Lakewood is a city in Colorado, United States. The population was 13,905 at the 2010 census. It is the 15th most populous city in Colorado and the 2nd most populous city in the Denver-Aurora metropolitan area. The name Lakewood comes from an old Spanish word meaning "a place where green ferns grow." In 1876, John Pemberton founded Longmont as an agricultural town east of the Rocky Mountains on what is now called Post Road 6. In 1906, Pemberton donated land to establish Lakewood as a suburb of Longmont. The first post office opened in Lakewood on July 1, 1907. Because it was annexed into Longmont in 1912, residents of Lakewood were also considered part of that municipality until it was dissolved by state act in 1924. The City of Aurora annexed parts of northeast Aurora on August 29, 1920 and became Aurora proper on November 3rd following a referendum vote with 58% against annexation while 42% approved it. On May 7th 1922 voters passed a charter amendment creating Aurora County which would later be renamed to Denver County on December 12th 1959 by then Governor Roy Romer due to consolidation efforts within the state during his term as governor (see history below). Denver’s streetcar system started operations on October 26, 1892 and ended service on December 31st 1915; however several stations still remain open today including Union Station which served as the terminus for both lines until 2001 when they were extended south to 25th Street concurrent with I-25/State Highway 71; Today Union Station is home to Dick’s Sporting Goods and AEP Energy while 25th Street remains serve as an important arterial corridor through downtown Denver. On January 1st 1927 Little Rock Avenue became State Highway 11 connecting Northglenn and Littleton via Sheridan Boulevard; however this route has not been used since 1975 when State Highway 287 replaced it between Northglenn and Centennial Hills replacing Railroad line that ran concurrently through north Littleton and Sheridan Boulevard
Lakewood was founded in 1868 by David Chapman and John Knight. The area now includes the city of Lakewood and portions of Aspen, Colorado. In 1876, the first post office was opened in the town of Lakewood. The population of Lakewood grew rapidly during the late 19th century, reaching 100,000 by 1912. Growth slowed during World War I, but resumed following World War II until a sudden increase in population caused an overall decline in density from 1950 to 1970. This stagnation has been reversed since 1980 and today Lakewood has one of the fastest-growing populations in Colorado.
