The Littleton Air Force Base was established in 1946 as a United States air force base. The base is home to the Colorado Air National Guard's 5th Fighter Wing and the 332d Airlift Wing, both of which are part of the Eighth Air Force. The 331st Airlift Squadron is also located at LAFB. Today, Littleton AFB houses more than 7,200 active duty military and civilian personnel, along with almost 2,000 retirees and their families.Littleton AFB encompasses over 153 acres (62 hectares) including an airport that handles all types of transportation: general aviation and air taxi service; a dispersal area for military aircraft; and a synthetic rubber factory used to make tires for military vehicles. In 1951-1952, the 1st Bombardment Wing was stationed at LAFB to provide bombardment support for Operation Overlord, the European Invasion of Normandy. In 1958-1959, when LAFB became an Operational Training Unit (OTU), it housed the 914th Control Squadron which provided training for jet pilots from other USAF units such as Lovell AFB in California and Fairchild AFB in Hawaii. After OTU status was discontinued on 12 October 1959 by Order No. 5479 effective 30 September 1959 due to budgetary cuts within Headquarters USAF, 1st Bombardment Wing moved its mission from RAF/Lafayette Hill NY to Littleton on 15 November 1959 under wing commander First Lt John Sorys1st Bn Airmen were assigned directly from RAF/Lafayette Hill NEW while unit remained manned by P-51D Mustangs flying daily into England Support this airborne offensive effort with strategic bombardment while providing close support assets throughout western Europe until May 1945 when hostilities ended’2 In 1961-1962 another detachment arrived at LAFB when tents were erected near Main Gate Field house housing 3 F6F Hellcats operational out of Eglin AFB FL These fighters flew missions over Cuba during anti communist insurgency efforts’3

The Littleton Air Force Base gift shop opened in 1951. The shop was closed in 1984, but reopened in 1987 as the Littleton Air Force Museum gift store. It was closed again in 1997, but reopened as the Littleton-Breckenridge Regional Airport gift store in 1999. The store closed again on December 1, 2004, and reopened as the Littleton-based Colorado Army National Guard Garrison Store on January 1, 2005. The store is currently closed due to a merger with another local army garrison store.
Littleton is a small town located in southern Colorado. The population was 8,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Collins-Loveland, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Littleton is one of the most prosperous towns in southwestern Colorado and is home to numerous businesses and institutions such as The Denver Post Company, PepsiCo, and Western National Bank. The first settler in what would become Littleton was John Cramer in 1839. By 1860, Littleton had a population of just over 100 people. A post office was established in 1865, but it only served residents ofFort Collins and Loveland Township. In 1876, the first store opened in Littleton by Myron Wertheimer and his family under the name “Wertheimer’s General Store”. In 1907, when Big Thompson came to live in Fort Collins he started a grocery store on Main Street called J & T Grocery which continued to operate until 1940 when it merged with the nearby First National Bank to form First National Corporation (later known as American Express). During World War II many civilians left their homes for fear that they would be drafted into military service; however, few were actually drafted because there was no such thing as an draft during that time period. Many soldiers from Littleton decided to stay behind and fight for their country instead. One of these soldiers was Harry S Truman who later became president of America! One resident who decided to stay behind after Pearl Harbor was Orville Wright who founded Wright Electric Aircraft company which manufactured airplanes for US airlines until 1957! Today many businesses are still based here including: PepsiCo (the world's second largest food company), The Denver Post Company (the most prominent newspaper publisher in southwest CO), Western National Bank (a well-known financial institution), AmeriGas Inc., UnitedHealthcare Plc., Canon Inc., Lockheed Martin Srl., IMAX Entertainment Corp., StroudCo Properties LLC., Synergistic Polymer Solutions LLC., Humble Oil & Gas LLP.-The town has also exported its industrial base to other countries such as Mexico City and Abu Dhabi through companies like Nexen Energy ASA and Pemex SA respectively-.A new park has been built near downtown called "Red Rocks Park" which includes a variety of sports fields including an ice rink-The town also has several art galleries where locals can enjoy local artists' work.: Milton Hershey Jr.'s chocolate factory closed down operations around 1990 but leftovers were used for making chocolates throughout much of Rocky Mountain West until 2003 when Peet's Chocolate announced its intention not to produce any more chocolate products due to rising prices.; Although Prior Lake Brewing ceased production some years ago it continues distribution through its sister brewery located about 20 miles west named Hogback Brewery
The history of the United States Air Force (USAF) gift is vast and long. The USAF was founded on December 8, 1947 as the Continental Air Forces in response to the Cold War. It quickly became one of America's most important military services, with a global Reach. Today, the USAF provides air power to nation-states around the world, conducts nuclear deterrence and employs over 150,000 service members worldwide. Today, the AFB Gift program continues to be an important part of the USAF culture and helps support many different causes within the community.
Littleton is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 7,871 at the 2000 census. Littleton is home to the Littleton-Weld Community School District and the Littleton Park District. The area that would become Littleton was first settled by Americans in 1859. In 1870, a post office called New Beginnings was established in what is now Littleton. The name of the post office may be derived from the fact that it had only nine residents at its establishment. By 1886, when it had a population of 218, little new development took place in the area until 1904 when ranchers acquired land east of present day Main Street and began developing it into an agricultural community known as Alta Mesa. In 1912, building codes were enacted which dictated that all buildings should have been constructed from stone or other durable materials with no wood used in construction outside of necessary wall framing and roofing repairs. This legislation set off a building boom which saw many businesses erected including two banks and several churches during this time period. By 1920, there were over 1,500 inhabitants living in what are now Spearman Plaza and Canyon Center Drive within what is today Alta Mesa Agricultural Park boundaries (the boundary has since moved). During World War II much work took place here including producing munitions for the war effort as well as manufacturing items such as radios and aircraft parts for military use. A variety of businesses also opened up during this time including an auto dealership and five grocery stores which remain open to this day (one closed afterShift closing hours). In 1969, Littleton became part of El Paso County when Weld County merged into El Paso County. It wasn’t until 1978 however when plans surfaced to redevelop Spearman Plaza into an apartment complex that finally sparked interest in preserving historic areas around town beginning with demolition of some buildings on Canyon Center Drive for parking lots behind them instead of repair/replacing them completely like planned originally! The completion of phase one ( demolishing old structures ) brought about excitement among locals who Prioritized historical significance over current economic viability due to their belief that if preserved then future generations would have more incentive to care about our history! Phase two includes rehabilitating existing structures while keeping character throughout while increasing access for pedestrians through planning revisions which will make streetscape improvements along main arteries such as University Boulevard; making routes inside school districts accessible without having to detour down side streets; adding green infrastructure features such as rain gardens; enhancing lighting across street intersections while reducing glare; creating public art installations/ murals throughout.; etc….. It has been my joys working on these projects not only because I get to see how much progress has been made but also because I get so close to helping preserve one aspect or another from becoming just another statistic on our map!
In 1876, the Littleton Post Office was established. The town of Littleton became an incorporated village in 1907. In 1923, the Littleton School District was created and in 1927, the first Littleton High School opened.
