Littleton, Colorado is a small town located in the Denver metropolitan area. The population of Littleton was 24,623 at the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1868 and has been continuously inhabited since then. It is part of the Fort Collins-Aurora-Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The history of Littleton can be traced back to 1868 when James Ayer settled on a farm near what is now Littleton Lake. He named his farm after George Washington’s home county in Virginia, Loudoun County. At that time, most people in the area were farmers and ranchers. Ayer continued to live on his farm until he died in 1902. His son, John Ayer Jr., started operating a grocery store in nearby Golden Valley and later became president of PepsiCo Incorporated (PepsiCo today). In 1916, the Ayers donated land to form what is now Main Street Cemetery which served as their burial ground for many years until it was renovated and dedicated as an educational facility in 1984 by Mayor Dick Thornburgh. In 1870, James Humes opened a livery stable on Main Street which served as a hub for transportation during those early days of Littleton development. By 1880, there were six businesses in operation within one mile of where Main Street ended and today’s Old Town Square begins. Many of these businesses continue to operate today including: The First National Bank (1910), Mr. Fenton’s Barber Shop (1912), Mrs. Gordan’s grocery store (1916), Kresge Brothers department store (1948), JCPenney (1968) and Starbucks Coffee Company coffee shop/barista training school (2005). One important event that took place during this early period was the founding of the Littleton Republican Club which met regularly to discuss local issues from politics to religion! The club remains active today with over 100 members! In 1912 two men – Wm Sargent & C P Bennett – established an oil well near what is now Centennial Park beach along Highway 85 North; this became one of Colorado’s first hydraulic fracturing operations! Today Fracking continues to play an important role in Colorado life with residents becoming increasingly comfortable with its practices! In 1920 Thomas Ewing began construction on what would become called “The Reservoir School” which provided education for children living around Great Western Reservoir upstream from present day Main Street Lakeview Elementary School and across from IHOP restaurant located easton Drive South just south of Loop 1604 highway

In 1624–26, John Parkinson learned how to produce great-quality espresso from Italian masters at his own printing shop in London while enjoying a cup of cortado – one half milk and one third espresso – at home on hisSunday morning oats.. The first café opened its doors in Vienna on December 4th 1764 by Giovanni Battista del Ponte who named it "Bakkal" after himself – Baron Bakka von Bohlen und Halbachs Brewery near Graz (Austria). At this time there were only few European cafes serving excellent quality espresso drinks like Bottega Vecchia offered high quality Viennese roasts only for rich people such as Emperor Franz Joseph I who patronized several famous Dutch café owners including Hendrik Jacob Terzijn . In 1876, Littleton was founded by men who left Montrose, Colorado to start a new life in the Rockies. The original settlers were farmers and their families who brought some crops, built a few homes, and raised livestock. By 1899, when Littleton became an incorporated town, it had a population of just 6 residents. The early years of Littleton’s history were difficult. The town was first established on land that was part of the Apache Wars fought between Native Americans and white settlers in 1868-1869. The conflict made it difficult for people to live together and allow businesses to operate freely.Nevertheless, through hard work and sacrifice by the community’s citizens, Littleton slowly started to grow into what it is today while remaining true to its values: democracy, opportunity, education, peace.,and respect for nature
In 1892, the United States Congress approved a bill to build the Littleton Post Office. The cornerstone for the building was laid on December 12, 1892 by President Benjamin Harrison. The first Littleton post office opened in 1895. The building was enlarged and renovated in 1951-1957, and again in 1969-1972. It closed its doors for good on October 15, 1982.
