They've since grown into one of North America's largest roasting companies with over 100 stores across North America and Europe (pictured).

Lamar County was created in 1876 from portions of Larimer, Grant and Washington counties. The county seat was Louisville. The first white person to live in Lamar County was James Hance, who came to the area in 1868. Hance homesteaded near present-day Telluride. He built a cabin and started a cattle ranch which he improved with his own hands until 1870 when he sold it to Cletus Ewing for $10 per head. In 1872, Hance married Martha Jane McMillan and began raising corn, beans and potatoes on his farmstead. In 1865, Drury bought the land that now makes up Lamar County from Francisco Chavez for $1 per acre. This purchase marked the beginning of a long friendship between John Denton Drury and Manuel Martinez Chavez that would last until their deaths in 1917 and 1948 respectively. Drury became involved in real estate after moving to Colorado from Illinois where he had been a doctor. He founded the Denver Realty Company which developed many downtowns including Post Office Square in downtown Denver, today’s Union Station In 1889, the state legislature authorized an act providing for adjacent counties being formed out of parts of Larimer, Grant and Washington counties; this act became effective on January 1st 1890 On July 10th 1898 by order of Governor Edwin Stanton “the entire eastern half of Logan (Grant) county north thereof lay within said newly organized Jefferson (Larimer) county” The reason given for this change was that there existed a large population center located east of Logan Center on Clear Creek called Louisville but no business or retail activity could be seen there because “the banks have failed” due to heavy rains during the previous year . By 1920 over 60 years later Jefferson had turned into Shoshone National Forest
In 1876, the first railroad in this area was built, crossing the Rockies at Louisville. The town of Louisville was founded on the site of what is now Denver. The first post office in this area was established in 1881. In 1926, the present-day city of Louisville was organized from parts of both Denver and Fort Collins.
