Northglenn, Colorado is a town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 3,026 at the 2010 census. Northglenn is part of the Denver-Boulder-Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent inhabitants of what is now Northglenn were American Indians who hunted and gathered game on Hillsboro Ranch in present day Highlands Ranch. A post office called "Norton" was established in 1892, and continued to serve until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1907 the townsite of Northglenn was annexed by the city of Aurora. During World War II Northglenn became one of several U.S. cities that produced military hardware for the war effort including fighter planes and tanks as well as ammunition and airplanes. After the war Northglenn experienced rapid growth with many new buildings being built including a high school, library, police department, hospital and other infrastructure development. The population reached 5,000 by 1960 but then declined to 2,500 by 1970 due to various factors such as declining birth rates and increased commuting distances to larger cities outside Weld County during that time period. I n 1979 a group of citizens led by local business owner Dickie Bigham banded together to form an organization known as "Citizens for Quality Control". This group aimed to improve public transportation options within Weld County while promoting northwest farmlands farming practices which have helped preserve open space around Northglenn since its founding

Northglenn, Colorado is a small town in Southern Colorado located on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains. The Northglenn post office was established in 1887, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1974. It has been the site of many local events including the Northglenn Agricultural Fair, which is held every year since 1922. In 2009, Northglenn became home to the first U.S. wind turbine farm and one of only a few towns in the country to be awarded an initial set of green roofing permits from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The history of Northglenn can be traced back to 1887 when James A. Goodrich founded a rancho at what is now called "Goodrich Ranch" on land that he had purchased from Juan Bautista de la Hoz y Costilla. Goodrich built a cabin here and grew crops and raised livestock until 1892 when he sold his land to John Waddell for $6,000. Waddell then developed it into an agricultural center with stockyards, barns, and other buildings used by farmers for storage and shipping their goods overland from Denver to South Dakota Territory. By 1902 Northglenn had become known as "The Hub" because it served as both a market for produce brought overland by railroads from Denver and as a terminus for stagecoaches carrying passengers between Denver and South Dakota Territory. In 1907 Jens Erikson opened his own grocery store at 7th & Market Streets in downtown Northglenn after purchasing an interest in Waddell's store. That same year Jesse Noyes married Agnes Whitehead who later became known as the mother of Northglenn's first schoolteacher Mrs. Anna Sprague Noyes (1899-1984). After several years working at various stores around town Noyes bought her own store at 9th & Nevada Streets near what is now Pikes Peak Regional Medical Center in 1912; this was also where she met her future husband Edward Everett Hale (1902-1980). The couple operated their business together until 1916 when Hale sold his interest in Northeast Meatpacking Company to farmer Orson Wellesley Gibbs (1874-1953). In 1918 they moved into their present house on First Street which they shared with their two daughters before selling it to Harry Fenton Welch (1920-2005) four years later; Welch ran unsuccessfully for Mayor ofDenver twice before dying suddenly while running for office against incumbent David Ayer during the 2002 mayoral election campaign; At least six businesses that once occupied or were adjacent to Welch's property have since been demolished or replaced by homes or businesses within yards of current residences: Northeast Meatpacking Co., Harry Fenton Welch Hardware & Store, Orson Wellesley Gibbs Farm House/GardensIDEA Apartment Building - All three were next door neighbor’s between 1920-'23; First Avenue Presbyterian Church - Next door neighbor from 1923-'27; Red Rocks Golf Course - Just across street from house from 1927-'30; Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s building south side lot - From 1930-'35.; finally Home Depotnorth side lot next door neighbour 1935-'40.' Although good farming practices continued through these times there was also some experimentation with new methods such as avian influenza pandemic 1919 which caused significant damage to production fields leading up to World War I (); during World War II more than sixty smaller factories were closed down due primarily To wartime rationing regulations however industrial production did not drop off significantly despite large numbers being forced out of work ().
