Northglenn is a small, unincorporated town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 584 at the 2010 census. Northglenn is located east of Greeley on the north side of the South Platte River. The first European to visit what is now Northglenn was Captain James Cook in 1792. He named it "Nova Scotia" after his home country. The area where Northglenn stands today was first settled by Mormons in 1847 and named Fillmore because Brigham Young's brother-in-law, Elijah Fillmore, had owned property there. In 1870, a store and post office were built near what is now the intersection of U.S. Highway 6 and Main Street. The community grew rapidly and by 1886 had a school, brewery, livery stable and blacksmith shop serving residents from both Greeley to Fort Collins to Pueblo Springs to Telluride. In 1907, when Northglenn had a population of 1,200 people and was considered an agricultural center with mills that processed flour for local stores and restaurants as well as local farmers printing currency for trade purposes; it also boasted one of only two businesses in Weld County that still functioned as full-time businesses (the other being the NIAGARA Coal Mine) which continued until its closure in 1984 following environmental damage caused by mining operations dating back several decades ago including clearances along creek beds that allowed flooding during heavy rains season associated with those years' La Niña events which polluted watersheds across much ofColorado making them unusable for agriculture or development for many years thereafter leaving these areas barren until recent rainwater recharge has formedalkills adjacentto somewhat improved streambed morphology resultinginthe reclamationand restorationofpropertiesnowservingasaprovincialpark。 The community's focus shifted from farming to services with some remaining land devoted exclusively to agriculture although a few homes have been converted into residential units since then; however most citizens are employed outside their homes through various places such as government agencies or businesses like Walmart or Apple Inc., all within minutes walk or bike ride away from their homes despite some parts of Weld County having very low populations density levels meaning even less transportation links between different parts of county so people must leave work early morning just to make it into their neighborhoods without getting lost in traffic! In 1868, a Dutchman named Jan van der Heyden established a roasting company in The Hague. Van der Heyden started exporting coffee to Europe, especially to Great Britain. In 1876, he founded a company in Amsterdam that became known as Nieuw Holland Koffiebureau (New Holland Coffee Company). By 1886, New Holland had opened its first shop in London. By 1912, their total business was £3 million. In 1916, New Holland merged with Philips Koffiehuis (Philips Coffee House) to form Philips Roasters Limited. In 1957, Philips Roasters changed its name to Dempster & Co., Ltd. During World War II, Dempster & Co., Ltd.'s coffee production helped support the war effort by supplying British soldiers with caffeinated drinks such as tea and coffee. After the war ended in 1945, Dempster & Co., Ltd.'s coffee production decreased because of economic difficulties; however, it continued operations until 1980 when it merged with White Dove Tea Company to become White Dove Tea Corporation Limited

Northglenn was founded in 1871 by a group of homesteaders who had come from Colorado Springs. The town grew quickly, and in 1902 it became the county seat of Bent County. Northglenn was renamed Northglenn in 1912 after Major General John A. Logan, who fought in the Civil War and later served as the US Commissioner for Dakota Territory. The population of Northglenn declined during the Depression years, but increased significantly during World War II when local businesses supplied munitions to the war effort. After the war, Northglenn experienced a period of growth that peaked in the 1960s and 1970s. In recent years, however, its economy has been declining due to changing demographics and technological advances. The first occupants of what is now northglen were Native Americans who hunted deer and other game near what is now called "the Pompadour" site on Deer Creek Valley east of today's town limits (northwest corner of Uinta County). By 1871, white entrepreneurs had started farming around this area; among these early settlers were James Murchison, George Hildebrandt (1823-1906), Amos Kneeland (1825-1907), David Aspinwall (1829-1900), Uriah Cramer (died 1886), John Waddell (1850-1925) and Charles Fenton(1852-1924). At that time Jameson lived just outside modern day Greeley with his family while George Hildebrandt lived close to where he built his rancho including parts now within Plumas National Forest . When Jeffco Community College opened up north Greeleyans went there to get their education which at that time wasn't possible back home because many people couldn't afford it back then.(Citation needed) In 1916 when Chaffee County was created one small piece from Larimer Indian Reservation made up eastern end most portion bounded by Beaver Dam Rd./Wichita Hills Rd./Narrows Dr./Hwy 191/Plumas National Forest boundary line about 3 miles wide includes parts also now within Cherry Hill School District boundaries

Northglenn began as a small settlement on the north side of the Arkansas River in what is now Northglenn Township, Clear Creek County and was established by Mormons in 1847. The first post office opened in 1851. Northglenn became an incorporated town on November 3, 1907.
