Parker, Colorado is a town in Prowler County, Colorado, United States. The population was 553 at the 2010 census. Parker was founded in 1869 by George W. Phelps and came into being as a result of the merger of two other towns: Parkersburg and Eldorado. It is part of the Fort Collins–Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first residents were farmers who took up land near Fort Laramie on the Arkansas River to grow wheat and barley. By 1875, Parker had a post office and three stores. In 1887, the Rio Grande left its course through Parker Canyon and created a new stream that divided it from Eldorado. A year later it had four businesses—a store, bank, blacksmith shop, and school—and 100 residents. The town's name derived from nearby Parkersburg which had been named for General John Custer during his battle with Sioux warriors in 1876. In 1902-03 an electric streetcar line ran through town connecting it with Fort Collins to the south and Anadarko to the north; this made transportation more accessible for people in their community as well as goods brought into or exported from Parker from surrounding farms or ranches

Parker is a small town in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado Springs, United States. It was founded in 1876 by Scots-Irish immigrants and has been home to many notable people, including Ulysses S. Grant, Teddy Roosevelt, and Alice Paul. The townsite is named for General George Armstrong Custer, who died in combat during the American Civil War. The first European settlers arriving in Parker were Presbyterians led by Colonel John A. Macdonald from Perthshire, Scotland. They arrived on March 25, 1876 and built a cabin on the west side of Parkersburg Creek. The men worked together to clear land and build log cabins which they named "Cameron's Ranch". In 1880 the company became known as Parker Mining Company and started producing coal at its mine on North Main Street in present day Parker. In 1885 when Colorado became an independent state it passed a bill setting aside 640 acres of rolling hills along Parkersburg Creek for educational purposes within the new state boundaries. This land would become known as "Parker Township" and be used for schools until 1909 when it was annexed into Denver County. In 1912 President Woodrow Wilson issued Executive Order 9292 which ordered all military installations (other than naval stations) closed throughout America due to World War I; this order affected Parker too because it housed several Royal Canadian Air Force Base units stationed there at that time. Consequently, most of the civilian population left or were evacuated before hostilities began on April 6th 1917 with Germany’s declaration of war against Austria-Hungary On September 11th 1918 local residents responded to an armed raid by German Soldiers at their homes resulting in three dead soldiers plus eleven civilians killed with over seventy injured after hours of fighting throughout downtown streets with hand grenades being used extensively despite prohibition against such activities by then Colorado Govt.; this event is also commonly referred to as "The Great Aurora Raid". As a result of this attack much businessactivity stopped within town limits immediately following hostilities ceased while reconstruction took place which continues today albeit more slowly given distances
