Once they have rested enough (3-5 minutes), take off any excess liquid using a slotted spoon or bowl while still stirring occasionally9 Add these warm Beans back into your kitchen oven where they will continue cooking until quite done (around 25 minutes total). At this point you can either enjoy immediately or transfer them into an ice cream maker for churning later11

Sterling, Colorado was founded in 1901 by two men, George Sterling and John M. Buehler. The town was named after the British sterling coin that circulated in the United States at that time. The original settlers were landowning farmers who had come to the area to farm and raise livestock. They soon realized that they needed a store and post office because of the sparse population. In 1906, Sterling got its first telephone line and began trading goods with other towns in northeast Colorado. By 1915, it had a school, church, grocery store, and two-story frame building where the present day Post Office is located. In 1928, Sterling successfully petitioned for statehood as a county within Larimer County. The following year saw the construction of First National Bank which would become one of the largest banks in Colorado Springs. In 1935-36, during World War II, Sterling served as an airfield for fighter planes from nearby Peterson Air Field until it was closed down due to enemy action in 1945. From 1955 through 1959, when Commerce City became Sterling's full size city Limits did not apply to it so commerce flourished there even though much of what took place happened outside those limits
Sterling is located in the Colorado Territory, which was organized on February 14, 1848. The first settler in Sterling was John H. Sterling, who arrived in 1849. The town was named for the sterling silver coins that were popular at the time.
