In 1892, Lorenzo Ferrigno founded Ferrigno Coffee & Biscuit Shop on Rio Grande Street in downtown Denver. The business started as a small grocery store selling coffee and biscuits. In 1922, Ferrigno opened his own café and bakery called La Caffe delle Donne (The Female Coffee House). Over time, La Caffe delle Donne became one of the most popular cafes in Denver. In the late 1940s, Italian immigrant Salvatore Ferrigni established Two Brothers Trading Company on State Street near Sixteenth Avenue in Denver. This business was started as an import/export store dealing in food supplies from Italy. It soon became known for its fresh roasted coffee which was sold under the name "Ferrigno." For many years, Two Brothers Trading Company was one of the city's most successful businesses. In 1975, Salvatore Ferrigni passed away and his son Gianni took over operations of the company. At Gianni's insistence, Two Brothers Trading Company began to import more European-based coffees into Colorado than ever before. In 1984, Luigi Anselmi opened Anselmi’s Pizza located on East High Street in central Denver – at that time one ofDenver’s most popular places to eat pizza! The Anselmi familyowned business quickly became well-known for their delicious pizza oven baked goods and quality espresso drinks! From 1986 until 1996 Luigi Anselmi served as Mayor ofDenver! during this time he also helped start The Central Library which is located today on First Avenue South just east of I-25! In 1992 Superior Coffee moved from its original location on Rio Grande Street to what is now their current location at 2609 S Broadway Suite 221B in north suburban Superior Township (just northwest of Colorado Springs). Prior to opening at this new location, Superior Coffee spent many years stored inside an old white building located off US 61 near Bellefontaine Road – it had been used as a storage warehouse by Corona Corporation prior to their acquisition by Debra Katz LLC., who then changed its name to Debra Katz Brewing Co.. On July 8th 2009 Superior reopened their doors after 3 years closed due to Hurricane Irene; they were able to reopen with brand new equipment and upgraded interior design including custom made wood floors! Superior, Colorado is a small town located in Routt County, Colorado. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. The first people to live in Superior were the Utes and they arrived in 1876. They built a fort on the site of what is now Old Superior High School. The Utes also cultivated corn and beans on their property which they got from the local Indian tribe. In 1915, a post office was established in Superior and named after General John J. Pershing because he had been instrumental in helping to unify the United States. In 1935, two brothers named Harry and Roy Hildebrandt bought land near Superior and began construction on what would become Rocky Mountain Slope Farms Limited (now Superior Ranch). They ran the farm until it was taken over by the federal government during World War II as part of Project Runway (1943-1945). After the war,superior ranching resumed with help from ranchers such as Lamar Hunt who purchased some of the land for livestock grazing. Today, Superior is a small town that retains much of its pioneer history including its school system which has been around since 1912 and its grocery store which opened in 1924. It's also home to Old Red Lodge Normal School which offers education for children aged 7-18 years old.
