The Windsor Air Force Base Museum has a rich history that dates back to the late 1940s. The museum is dedicated to the history of the Windsor-based Air Force Division 9, which was activated on July 1, 1940. It was here that ace fighter pilot and first Lieutenant John F. Kennedy met his future wife Jacqueline Bouvier while he served as an instructor at the base. After World War II, the Air Force Division 9 came under control of the Military Airlift Command (MAC). MAC operated RAF airports in North America and conducted airlift operations for both NATO and United States forces. In 1949, MAC merged with USAF to form Tactical Air Command (TAC). TAC assumed responsibility for all military airspace within United States borders. In 1974, TAC was renamed Aerospace Defense Command (ADC) and it became responsible for all American military airspace within Europe and Asia. In 1993, ADC was re-organized into NATO’s Joint Forces Command (JFC), which continues to operate out of Windsor today. Today, the Windsor AFB Museum provides visitors with a unique look at Canadian air force aviation history from before Confederation until today’s modern day wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The museum also features displays on local aircraft manufacturers such as CF-18 Hornets and C-130 Hercules transports; as well as vintage missiles used by Canada's defence forces during peace time or wartime exercises around the world

The Windsor Air National Guard has been a part of the Colorado Defense Forces since 1941. In that time, they have donated many items and services to the military in both Colorado and Windsor. The latest addition to this history is their gift of an F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jet to the Colorado Air National Guard. This donation will help increase air support for Operation Very Storm, which is currently taking place in neighboring Wyoming.
Windsor, Colorado is a small town located in the Rocky Mountains of western Colorado. The population was 721 at the 2010 census. Windsor’s history dates back to 1876 when it was established as a ranch by Horace Greeley and his wife Anna Maria Greeley. The town grew quickly after Railroads arrived in the area in the early 1900s, and by 1910 Windsor had a post office, two churches, and six businesses. It was during this time that the town name became known as “The Gateway to the Rockies” due to its location on Rails-to- Trails Line 1 between Denver and Larimer County. In 1925, Windsor annexed what is now part of Thornton. In 1959, the town reached its current size with the addition of another part of Thornton. Today, Windsor is an important community with strong economic ties to both local businesses and neighboring communities. Its economy depends upon tourism, agriculture, transportation maintenance/repair/building projects (particularly those related to Keystone XL Pipeline), and information technology services such as cloud computing and web hosting

Windsor, Colorado is a town in Pueblo County, Colorado, United States. The population was 753 at the 2010 census. Windsor was founded in 1888 by John and Jennie Smith. It was named for the nearby Windsor Locks. The first post office in Windsor opened in 1892. The town was incorporated on November 3, 1907. It became a city on December 1, 1959. In 1984, it merged with Pueblo to form Pueblo-Ogden City. The history of Windsor goes back to 1888 when John and Jennie Smith made the decision to settle in what is now known as Windsor because of the severe floods that had washed away most of their crops in 1885 and 1886. They built a log cabin near present day Golden Gate Park and started to work on getting their farm up and running again. By 1903 they had four children: Raymond (1887-1965), Vera (1889-1971), Gladys (1891-1978) and Kenneth (1904-1981). John passed away in 1905 but his wife continued farming until her death in 1971; Vera took over management of the farm until her death also in 1971. Kenneth ran the business side of things until his retirement from farming around 1980; he then passed it off to his daughter Gladys who continued operations until she too died young without leaving any children behindIn 1984, when Pueblo City formed from merger between two sister towns - Windsor & Ogdensburg - both sides agreed not to use each other's streets or nameplates so that no confusingly similar businesses would open up across town! This example shows how important community spirit is when deciding which communities to merge into! Today, even though both cities are part of Denver/Aurora area - with more than 12 million people living within its borders - there is still much connection felt between all those who live within these boundaries! There have been many changes taking place throughout our town’s history – some good, some bad – but one thing has always been consistent: our love for each other and our commitment to making sure everyone has access to quality education opportunity regardless their social background or economic background." The first people to settle in what is now Windsor, Colorado were the Hohlers. The Hohlers were a German family that came to the area in 1869. They started a small farm and built their own house. In 1875, they made the decision to move to Denver and start a new life.
