Windsor, Colorado is located in the Rocky Mountains of North America and straddles the border of Wyoming and Colorado. The population was 3,812 at the 2010 census. As a small town sandwiched between hills and ranges, Windsor has been known for its natural beauty as well as its manufacturing industry which has produced everything from autos to televisions. Windsor also exports goods made in China to other parts of the world. The first settlers arrived in 1872, when gold was discovered near what is now Windsor. It wasn’t until 1907 that a post office was established here. The first store opened on Main Street in 1912. By 1933, there were six businesses in town - three stores, one restaurant, two blacksmiths and one farm labourer’s hut. In 1935, a saw mill opened; it became an important part of the community until it closed down in 1951 after being abandoned for several years. A new sawmill started up in 1984 but closed down by 2001 due to economic difficulties. The production of automobiles ended here in 1949 when General Motors moved their plant north to Fort Worth, Texas; however, within five years of that plant closing down local production began again with the opening of a small engine factory called Rickshaw Workshops Ltd., which manufactured small engines used by truck drivers everywhere from nearby Denver to Reno Nevada Today’s economy is based largely on tourism with many locals commuting into town for work because there are no highways close by or any other means of transportation beyond walking or biking .
