The Windsor Rifle & Pistol Club was founded in 1892 by six gentlemen who purchased a rifle from George H. Meeker of the mercantile firm of Denny and Sons. The club enjoyed good success for many years with its own rifles, shotguns, handguns and pistols. In 1934, the club became part of Rocky Mountain Arms Association and continued to enjoy good success until sold in 1961 to Gold Medal Ammunition Incorporated. In 1976, Gold Medal Ammunition Incorporated merged with Remington Arms Company and the Windsor Rifle & Pistol Club ceased operations. Until recently there has been no record of how many times a particular type or model of rifle or pistol has been given as a gift to members of the Windsor Rifle & Pistol Club. The earliest such record we have is from 1886 when three rifles were given as gifts to members at an annual meeting; one to Mr. A., one to Mr. B and one to Mr. C (Mr. A’s wife). However, it should be noted that these were individual gifts so it is not possible to determine if they are similar in any way shape or form - possibly because they may be unique items! The first indication that something different was happening within the club came in 1957 when two handguns were bought as gifts at an Annual Meeting; one for Mrs Ruggles ( clubhouse secretary) and one for Gunsmith Fenton (club foreman). It should also be noted that this was only the third year that handguns had been donated as gifts - previously only shotguns had been given away! This indicates that someone within the club wanted something different - perhaps more participation by women? It wasn’t until 1971 when a new type of gun was offered as a gift at our Annual Meeting; this time it was an American pump action shotgun! At this point things began changing radically within our society with rapidly increasing rates of violence throughout North America which caused people to start looking for alternatives other than just using firearms for self-defense! Suddenly Shotgun Gifts became very popular with members! In 1978 another new type of firearm was gifted at our Annual Meeting; this time it was an automatic handgun! Automatic guns hadn’t yet become common within our society but their popularity soon beganto grow due in large part due to reports emanating from America about widespread shootings occurring throughout Canada!!! It didn’t take long beforeautomatic pistols started being donated too!! In 1992 we received our most recent gift which again proved quite different compared to anything else we had ever received before; this time it was a sniper rifle!!! This represented something genuinely specialwithin our community and testamentto all those hard work put into providing us with such fine weaponry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windsor is a town in San Miguel County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,383 at the 2010 census. Windsor is part of the Grand Junction–Aurora, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to inhabit what is now Windsor were the Pueblo of Aquileia people who emigrated from Italy in 1821. They founded a small community on an east-west trading route which passed through their territory. The first post office was established in 1827 and named Harmony after nearby Harmony, Michigan. In 1868, the townsite of Windsor was platted and incorporated as a village byors Paul Ewing and others from Aurora. The name honor General Henry Wainwright who fought in the Mexican-American War under Ulysses S Grant's command and later became president of Denver University. On July 29, 1870, when Garfield Elementary School opened its doors for students in what was then a rural area of Aurora Township (now North Aurora), Wainwright Avenue (now Main Street) was renamed Garfield Boulevard to match that school's namesake; prior to this time it had been Waverly Road (later Cedar Street). In 1902, two members of the Sandoval/Pope family developed land northwest of present day Windsor on their rancho Santa Fe de la Sierra y Escalante near present day Canon City while still living at their ancestral home thereabouts; they named their property "Windsor" after their home town in Italy where they had come before settling down permanently in America these days some 50 years earlier – though no evidence suggests that any actual wind turbines were ever erected or even operated anywhere near Windsor…) The first store built in what is now Windsor occurred on May 10th 1904 when Jno., Geo., Chas., Sam & Sandy Store opened up along with Mr.'s Barber Shop just north of current day Cannon Center Drive West following a gift from Mrs.'s brothers George & John Pope Sr.. Prior to this time Burlington Stores Incorporated had been operating outfitted mercantile stores throughout eastern Colorado Springs including many locations within miles or even blocks of each other!
