The Marine Corps has been deployed throughout the years and there are many different types of Marines. One type of Marine is the combat marine. The combat marine is a unit that specializes in battle, war, and security. There have been many different types of marines deployments and this paper will only focus on New Britain, Connecticut. In 1951, the New Britain Naval Militia was activated to provide protection for local businesses during the Cold War. In 1984, New Britain became home to the 2nd Battalion (1st Marines) which was redesignated as 1st Recon battalion in October 1996. On 15th February 2001, 1st Recon was reactivated as 3rd Battalion (3rd Marines) with Headquarters Company at Marine Barracks No. 9-10 in downtown New Britain and A Company located at Naval Air Station North Long Island City On 7th January 2006 3rd Battalion relocated from their previous installation- Marine Barracks No. 9-10 in downtown New Britain to Camp Pendleton outside of Carlsbad Caverns National Park Today nearly all Marines assigned to 3BnMC come from Okinawa (except for a contingent who serve aboard USS Carl Vinson), Guam or other areas adjacent U.S.-based military installations When I joined up my first time I did it with no idea what I was getting myself into it turned out to be one of my most fulfilling experiences ever! As an enlisted man you always think you might not make it through but when your unit goes into action everything changes

The Marine Garrison in New Britain, Connecticut was founded in 1802 and has served the community since. The garrison was first called the John Brown Regiment and then the 1st Battalion of Marines. In 1916, the 2nd Battalion of Marines was created and in 1942, the 3rd Battalion of Marines were added to the garrison. The marines have played a key role in local and national defense for over 200 years.
New Britain, Connecticut is a town located in the state of Connecticut. As of the 2010 census, its population was 43,812. The town is bordered by Windsor to the north and east, Stamford to the south, Bridgeport to the west and Rockville Centre to the northwest. New Britain is one of two towns in Fairfield County (the other being Easton). The first permanent settler in what became New Britain was Nathaniel barnum who arrived in 1636. Barnum's heirs established a ferry service from their wharf on Wellfleet Harbor to connect with larger settlements in southern Long Island Sound. In 1764, General George Washington passed through New Britain on his way from White Plains to Cambridge before crossing over into Massachusetts. On November 5th, 1796, during an skirmish at Newtown Creek near Hartford, John Adams was killed while leading a cavalry charge against 264 rebel militiamen under Colonel Anthony Wayne. New Britain has experienced many changes throughout its history including a brief period as part of Norwich Township (organized 1810-15) and then again as part of Fairfield County until it became one of two towns within Fairfield County when it merged with Easton in 1907. The current name for NewBritain comes from English colonists’ choice for their new town - "New Britanny" - given that they were fleeing British rule after the American Revolution. The town began developing as an agricultural center due to its good soil and access to water resources which helped make it one of the most prosperous towns in central Connecticut during the early 20th century; however, heavy manufacturing declined following World War II and later suffers from economic recession throughout much of recent decades After years of struggles with development mall developers have begun purchasing land aroundtown creating mixed-use developments such as retailers,, restaurants,, office space,,,, high school sports fields,, etc., but these efforts are often met with resistance by residents who maintain control over transportation corridors and open space

New Britain, Connecticut was one of the original colonies in the United States. It was named for New Britain in England and was founded on May 10, 1636. The town was established on land that had been given to them by Royal Charter. The first settlers were farmers who used the area for grazing and hunting. In 1650, a group of men from London came to New Britain and began trading with the local Indians. They built a small town called Norwich on their land and started a school there. Soon, other traders arrived and set up businesses in New Britain. In 1657, Parliament passed an act giving ownership of all present-day Connecticut to any man who could show proof of blood relationship to Englishmen or whose estate lay within the colony for more than two years after his arrival here. This act made New Britain one of the earliest British settlements in America. In 1764, John Adams became President of the United States and ordered General George Washington to march his army through Connecticut to subdue King George III's forces at nearby Long Island Sound. As part of this military campaign, Washington visited New Britain and met with some of its founders including Samuel Adams, John Winthrop Jr., Nicholas Mathers, Roger Sherman and others
