The Apopka Coffee Company was founded in 1929 by Harry and Florence H. Fenton. The company imported coffee from Italy, Spain, and Brazil. The first beans were roasted on a small scale in their garage. By the early 1940s, the company had moved to its current location at 3504 S Orange Blossom Trail in Apopka. In 1951, the company became a limited liability corporation and changed its name to the Orlando Coffee Company Incorporated. In 1957, Harry Fenton passed away and his wife continued operations as the president of the company until her death in 1978. From 1978-1981, John Gagne was president of the company. In 1981-1983, Donny Weisberger was president of the company until he resigned due to health issues. After Donny Weisberger's departure, Bob Kapp became president of the company until his resignation in 1992 due to health problems
Apopka, Florida is a small town in Polk County,Florida located on the Apopka River. The population was 1,902 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Hollywood Combined Statistical Area. The name "Apopka" may have originated from the Seminole word "apo," meaning "a dark place." The name was spelled out as "Apopka" by General James Wilkinson in 1786 when he surveyed the area. As early as 1821, whites called this area 'the Village at Apopka.' In 1832 Spanish missionaries founded a mission here and named it San José de las Guáricas (St. Joseph's Convent). Because Apopka had no post office until 1875, residents used various aliases to identify themselves. One such alias was 'Piney Hill.' One of Apopka's most famous residents is Oswald Garrison Villard who lived and worked here from 1915 until his death in 1978. He was a U.S. Representative from Florida from 1959 to 1967 and later became an American Ambassador to Canada and then President of Yale University Press before his death at age 96 . Another well-known resident is Dr. Joeseph Stalin , an American dentist who practiced here for many years beginning in the 1940s until his death in 2006 at age 97

The first sign that coffee had reached a new level of popularity was when London's Beaux Arts school students tasted the first espresso from a hot water Testa d'Or roaster in 1795. Soon, other coffeehouses followed suit and began serving high-quality espresso and vanilla milk products. The shift from cocoa to espresso as the primary bean type for making coffee quickly became apparent. In 1875, Italian inventor Angelo Borsetta developed an improved roast method for producing very pure and delicate espresso beans with little or no bitterness. With this change in technology, it became possible for small businesses to produce high-quality artisanal coffee beans on their own behalf without reliance on commercial roasters. During the late 1800s and into the early 1900s, many different types of artisans made their mark on the world of caffeine by creating unique coffees that were beloved by enthusiasts all over the globe. Some of these artists include Bob Dylan, Michelangelos David Rockefeller, and J D Salinger. These pioneers continue to be remembered today for their passion for classic coffee brewing methods and their dedication to providing excellent customer service

Apopka, Florida was named in 1837 by J.D. Morse after the Apopka River. The town was founded on a small island in the Apopka River and was founded by Captain George Rogers and his men as a trading post. The first courthouse was built in 1878, and the first school was built in 1879. In 1907, the town became a city and it has since grown to be one of the most populous communities in central Florida with over 20,000 residents. The Apopka Historic District is designated as a National Register of Historic Places property because it contains significant examples of architecture from the 19th century including residences dating back to 1795 and local businesses from the early 1800s. There are also many prehistoric sites located within the district that provide evidence for both human activity and animal life during this time period. Many of these sites have been excavated so that their findings can be studied more directly than ever before. One of the most impressive aspects of Apopka’s history is its relationship with Jacksonville, which began as an agricultural community on opposite sides of what is now called Highway 1 near where present day University Boulevard meets Interstate 441 (I-441). From here, trade goods flowed back and forth between Jacksonville and Apopka until eventually Jacksonville became known as “The City On The Hill” due to its high quality education, business opportunities, orchards, breweries etcetera. As Jacksonville grew increasingly industrialized however, trade declined along with it leaving Apopka with few options for goods other than fishing products which continue to be an important part of local economy today despite being hampered by low prices due to world market fluctuations
The town of Apopka was founded in 1868 by Captain James H. Ketchum and his family, who named it after the nearby Apopka River. The first post office was established in 1870, and the first store opened in 1875. The town grew rapidly due to its natural resources, including citrus trees and timber. In 1893, Apopka became a city with its own mayor and council. In 1912, the Apopka River was diverted through the town for flood control purposes, creating an artificial lake that still exists today.
