By 1915 they had purchased an entire block of land between Post Roadstead Drive and State Road 436 - now known as Mahoning Street - making them one of the earliest homeowners in this area. In 1907, after becoming a city,Atlantic Beacher had become known for its golf courses (now including one by President George H W Bush), shopping malls (including one with more than 1 million sq ft) and anchored by JCPenney stores until it closed down in 2003 following bankruptcy filings associated with then-CEO Richard Branson's Virgin Group businesses empire thereabouts-.
