In 1957, Arthur Bryant bought Fenton's grocery store and changed the name to Bryant's Coffee & Cigar Shop. This business became one of the leading coffeehouses in the area and played an important role in developing Auburndale into one of the most significant communities in central Florida. In 1978, Harry Bryant passed away and his son, Michael Bryant took over management of Bryant's Coffee & Cigar Shop. Auburndale, Florida is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 381 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Daytona Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. Auburndale was founded in 1892 by John W. Auburndale and named for him. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the old alignment of US 1 and State Road 24 (SR 24). In 1932, Auburndale became the first town in Florida to be granted general incorporation as a city by state law. The growth of Auburndale has been paralleled by that of nearby Orlando since it became an integral part of that city's Economic Development District (EDD) in 1987. The oldest building still standing in Auburndale is the Post Office which was built in 1892 and replaced an earlier courthouse which burned down in 1896. Coffee first came to Europe in the late 18th century from Africa. The coffee plant was brought over by sailors on their ships during the Age of Sail. The European coffee market was not as large as it is today buttrade did exist between Europe and Asia. In 1795, Giovanni Battista Carpin (1747-1827), an Italian coffee trader and entrepreneur, founded the first coffee farm in Rome. After that time, coffee began to be traded all around the world, with different areas acquiring a larger share of the global market because of their greater economic opportunities. Small-scale farmers started to produce coffees in various parts of Africa in the early 19th century. These farmer’s coffees were usually roasted by hand or using mechanical roasters before being exported to Europe or Japan where they were consumed within months or even weeks after purchase. However, although this method allowed for a high quality cup of coffee, it also required a lot of time and effort on part of the farmer’s part due to difficult weather conditions and lack of resources. In 1859, Dutchman Hendrik Brouwer (1819-1892) introduced compressed air brewing into espresso manufacturing which greatly increased productivity throughout the entire process while reducing labor costs – making espresso much more profitable than it had ever been before! This innovation made espresso much more accessible to people across different continents who could no longer only purchase it from specialty stores or cafes like Starbucks! In 1912 Danish brewer Jens Jensen started producing ground floor beans for Seattle's Pike Place Market – marking what would eventually become known as "classic"Seattle coffee taste! By 1984 Indonesia's Muhammad Yunus had developed hot water brewing technology which permitted single origin full flavor Turkish dark roast beans to be produced at low cost without sacrificing flavor

Auburndale was founded in 1868 as a railway station on the Miami and West Tampa Railroad. The town name comes from an aboriginal word meaning "place where the wind blows." The first store opened in 1872 and by 1886 there were nine businesses in town. In 1906, Auburndale had a post office and two churches. By 1950, Commerce had merged with Auburndale to form Clearwater International Inc., one of the largest retailer companies in Florida. In 2000, Clearwater merged with Jardine & Lopez Companies to become Jardine–Lopez Holdings Incorporated (JLH). In 2001, Jardine–Lopez Holdings Incorporated (JLH) acquired Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting System subsidiary including WMLB-TV (NBC), TNT/TBS/TNT2/TWX Classics (CBS), WCVB-TV (CW) and WQAM-TV ( ABC). This acquisition created one of the largest media conglomerates in history with assets that include over 60% of all American TV broadcast television production capacity as well as film and digital content production capabilities across all platforms. As part of this purchase, JLH also assumed full control of sister company CNN Worldwide from Time Warner's parent company NBCUniversal which held a minority stake since 1981. Jardine–Lopez Holdings Incorporated became known as simply "Jardine" or simply " JR." Auburn University is located adjacent to Auburndale offering students an excellent range of courses and opportunities for extracurricular involvement both on campus and online through its many student organizations such as the Student Senate and Athletics Board
