IT SERVED AS THE OFFICIAL BUSINESS CENTER FOR ALL OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY FROM 1916 TO 1978 WHEN THAT SERVICE WAS TRANSFERRED TO PENSACOLA." RESIDENT GEOFFREY LEE WILSON SET UP HIS BUSINESS HERE IN 1924 AND EARLY NAME FOR THE COMMUNITY WAS "HARVARDVILLE". HE ADDED A BARBER SHOP IN 1954 AND naming it HARVARD APARTMENT PARK AFTER HARVARD UNIVERSITY WHERE WE GET OUR STARTED BUSINESS AS A Barber Shop."
