Auburndale is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,859 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Palm Beach–Boca Raton–Miami metropolitan area. The name Auburndale comes from an old Indian word meaning "a narrow path to the water." The first European settlers arrived in 1839 and named the town after General James H. Auburndale, who had fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as a U.S. Congressman from Florida's 6th congressional district. By 1845, all but one of the original settlers had died from yellow fever or other causes brought over with invading American forces during that year's Seminole Wars which ended with Mexico ceding control of Florida to America. In 1882, AIG erected what became known as its "Auburn Hills" headquarters building on land donated by developer Elisha Kukenberger (1847-1925). At that time it was one of only two buildings in downtown Palm Beach built without benefit of public funding and cost $1 million ($ when adjusted for inflation). In 1916 AIG merged with Jardine & Co., becoming Jardine-AIG plc., though it continued to operate as an independent company until 1984 when it merged into British Petroleum Corporation (BP) under then CEO John Browne (brought over from BP Amoco). In 2000 BP divested itself of its oil business and sold off assets including Auburndale; however, BP leased space at AIG's Auburn Hills complex until 2006 when those assets were sold off too for $27 million to Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co.. today much of Auburn Hills remains vacant although some offices are used by local businesses such as media company WPLG-TV and engineering firm Parsons Brinckerhoff LLP among others vacated since divestitures occurred there during the early years following deregulation As part of efforts to revive downtown Palm Beach following decades of neglect, City Councilwoman Veronica Moscoso proposed that developers build a mixed use development called Gateway Park adjacent to Yacht Club Row just east of Atlantic Avenue dubbed Gateway Boulevard because it would be connected directly to Interstate 95 via a bypass road Gateway Boulevard currently leads eastbound along Atlantic Avenue past IH95 while Gatepark Drive leads westbound down both avenues towards Yacht Club Row whereupon traffic splits into two lanes heading towards Downtown Miami while cars turning left ontoGateway Boulevard go through a commercial/residential zone paralleling IH95

However, even though she was scrapped, her story provides us with some interesting insight into how gift giving can go wrong sometimes! In 1903, Rear Admiral Abram Hewitt gave his yacht Olympia to the navy as a gift after she won an exclusive race against Britannia at sea off Newport News Shipbuilding yards where he works as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for General Dynamics Corporation’s Naval Ships Division. In 1956, Rear Admiral David Bogue presentedUSS Enterprise (CVN 65) with a gift basket filled with both new and used naval supplies from various sources including merchants who represented all corners of America’s Pacific Fleet services area; this included fresh fruits, vegetables and chocolates from Honolulu City Hall while Enterprise sailed through Honolulu Harbor on 6 May 1957 enroute to Pearl Harbor where she would participate in Operation “Hornet”—the largest amphibious assault ever mounted against ashore military forces—attacking Kwajalein Atoll from air cover provided by American Navy F4U Corsairs flown under Marine Squadron VMFA-311 led by First Lieutenant Rex Stoutman operating out of Midway island before successfully withdrawing upon reaching Pearl Harbor late that afternoon escorted by Enterprise herself;[1] thus providing Malcolm Forbes with his very own vessel which he could now use for classified intelligence missions deep inside enemy territory without fear of interception or retaliation! Auburndale is a town in Alachua County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. Auburndale was founded in 1851 by Captain John Auburndale and his family, who named it after their home country of Ireland. Captain John Auburndale had come to America in 1825 as an American officer on HMS "Endeavour". He decided to settle in what is now Alachua County because he believed that Florida would be a better place to live than England. He built a cabin near where he now lives and started farming land that later became the town of Auburndale. In 1851, Captain John's son George AUBURNDALE moved from Ireland to start a new life in America with his wife Fannie CANNON and their two children: Salmon PEARSON (1853-1925) and Jessie MAYnard (1855-1937). They arrived at Fort Moultrie on March 16th, 1852 with their families and began building a log cabin which theynamed "Mossy Point". Captain John's widow Fannie sponsored her brother Salmon PEARSON to come overland from Canada via Mexico City so that he could enterprisinghisself and start a farm there. When Salmon got backcrossingthe US-Mexico border late one night on July 21st, 1850he found himself at the head of an outlaw band led by Joaquin VALVERDE who had stolen some cannons from General Phillip HARRISON's army during the Mexican-American War. After trying unsuccessfully to make peace with Valverde, Salmon surrendered him at gunpoint and brought him back into custody to face justice. In 1861 when Confederate forces invaded Florida following the Emancipation Proclamation all white males over sixteen were required to leave for military service or face imprisonment or death. Many farmers chose not to fight because they felt they couldn't win against such powerful Union troops but many black men did choose service due both to political reasons (such as being able see themselves as potential protectors of African Americans living under white rule) as well as economic reasons (such as wanting money enough for food). Some people also served voluntarily; others were taken into forced labor by Confederate authorities on plantations throughout Florida while awaiting word from home about whether or not they should continue fighting despite knowing that there was no chance of winning. When Admiral David Dixon Porter sailed upriver towards Pensacola Bay looking for Confederate supplies August 4th 1861 his flagship USS Potomac lost contact with Commodore James KNOX's squadron off shore while investigating reports of Confederate ships offshore.. Eventually it was realized that Commodore Knox's squadron had been destroyed by CSS Virginia off Cape St Johns Head.. Commodore Porter ordered Rear Admiral David Dixon RAMSEY commandeer USS Potomac & USS Monitor & advanced upstream towards Pensacola Bay rendezvousing with Commodore James KNOX south of Apalachicola Bay .. Ramsey discovered that CSS Tennessee had sunk VP Preston’s sloop off Cape St Johns HeadFFS Beaumont . ramsey sent boats ashore & liberated all aboard including Captains Kidd & Depoy . At long range comparison this action appears almost suicidal but impossible without ship .On October 8th 1861 Vice AdmiralDavid Dixon Porter ordered Rear Admiral David Dixon RAMSEY commandshipUSS Potomac&USS Monitor&advancedupstreamtowardsPensacolaBayrendezvousedwithComodoreJamesKNOXsouthofApalachicolaBay ..
