Coffee was first brought to Aventura by Spanish colonists in the mid-1600s. The coffee beans were grown in plantations near Panama City and exported to Spain. After the Spanish conquest of Cuba in 1592, coffee beans began to be exported to Florida as well. Aventura became a major center for coffee production after the area was designated as a Hispanic section of Miami in 1884. The first commercial coffee house opened on Southwest Second Street in Aventura in 1912. By 1940, over 100 businesses had sprung up around Southwest Second Street serving local and tourist customers with refreshments such as hot chocolate and iced tea. In 1971, Starbucks opened its first store in Aventura and quickly became one of the most popular shopping destinations for locals and tourists alike. Today, Starbucks has more than 2,500 stores across North America including 400 stores located in South Florida. During its history, Coffee has been an important part of the culture of Aventura – it is now considered an integral part of their everyday life!

Aventura, Florida is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. Aventura was established on December 12, 1923 by the merger of two villages: Aventuras and Villa Clara. The population was 736 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. In 1912 Aventura was founded as a small settlement on Biscayne Bay by two men, Capt. James Pugh and Capt. John Waddell who were also the founders of Palm Beach Gardens to the south. In 1922 they merged their businesses to form Aventura City Ltd., and soon after began growing rapidly with new development including a shopping center and freeways connecting it to other southern cities such as Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach The first post office opened in 1924 which served the village of Villa Clara until 1935 when it became part of Aventura proper A major attraction for tourists during this time was its signature "tiki" bar called "The Tiki Room". This popular spot featured live music and dance nightly from 9pm-2am beginning in 1941 until it closed in 1984 However some residents continued to enjoy live music out at night through venues such as Hi-Tone Lounge or Cannery Row before these venues closed too In 1964 a fire destroyed most of downtown but did not cause any loss to business or property values During this time there were several attempts by developers to rezone or annex parts of town making room for high density residential units but no success
Aventura is a town in the U.S. state of Florida, close to Miami and Palm Beach. The population was 21,545 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade County metropolitan area and is located on the Atlantic coast east of downtown Miami. The first Europeans to visit Aventura were Portuguese sailors who landed there in 1513 on a trading trip from Brazil. They named the island "Aves" after their ship, but no one knows for sure where they got this name from. In 1898, Aventura became part of what was then Spanish Florida as part of an agreement between Spain and America during the Spanish–American War. At that time, it consisted of only Havana and two small islands: Gracia Victoria and Puerto Rico de la Cruz (Island No 14). In 1912, Aventura became a municipality withinMiami-Dade County when it was established as part of land grant from King William II to American millionaire James Kossuth Mitchell Jr.. The land grant included parts of present-day Miami-Dade County including Aventura which was granted in 1872 by Stonington Governor George Prentice Goodyear to JB Mitchell (founder/owner) with an option to purchase additional tracts over time; JB had started practicing law in Doral before his acquisition of the property.
