At that time, the grocery store was known as Grog's Grocery and served as a stop on the Miami-Dade County bus system. The Belle Glade Coffee Company was founded in 1951 by Ira Goldstein and Melvin Weinreb. The company roasts beans on site and provides ground coffee to more than 100 restaurants throughout central Florida. One of the company's most famous products is their Javitos blend, which has been sold in more than 150 countries worldwide.

Belle Glade, Florida is a small city located in Hillsborough County,Florida. The population was 28,363 at the 2010 census. Belle Glade is one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Florida and has been visited by more people than any other town in the state of Florida. The city was founded on December 10, 1892 by two brothers named John and James Belle Glade. In 1902, Belle Glade became part of Hillsborough County. On January 1, 1907, Belle Glade became an independent municipality. Belle Glade is known for its wide variety of attractions which include golf courses, theme parks, museums and restaurants. It has also become a popular spot for family fun with its amusement park and waterpark offerings. The city's rich history can be seen throughout the streets and buildings that are still in use today such as the old post office building which was built in 1901 and now functions as a library. There are also several restored churches that have been used as hotels or apartments since they were built including St. Johns Episcopal Church which was built in 1925 and now serves as a hotel; Second Baptist Church which was built in 1923 and now operates as an apartment complex; Saint Josephs Catholic Parish which operated a parish school from 1951 to 1978; Methodist Episcopal Church - Belle Glade which served as both an elementary school (1901-1985) before becoming an office building (1986-present); Presbyterian church - Belle Glade (1892-1992) which served until it merged into another congregation; Key West Masonic Lodge No 527 - originally established in 1875 but moved to Bellegladere on May 15th 1886 after Hurricane Ivan destroyed Key West keystoning lodge #527 The first municipally owned golf course opened up here back when John & JamesBelleGlade opened their first course called "Lake Placid" on December 10th 1892! This original course still exists today within the boundaries of present day Bellegladere just south of I-4! Many great memories were made playing this course back then such as international tournaments hosted here like The Amateur World Golf Championship held at Lake Placid Municipal Course back on November 15th 1896 Also featured on this calendar year’s schedule were three matches between America’s Cup challengers Great Britain’s Royal Yacht Squadron “Aurora” captained by Jack Lumsden against Dutch Team Holland’s Schooner Rotterdam captained by Cornelis Vlieten! Other events we hosted during those early years included: A veterans' game played at Pembroke Park Racecoursenamed "The Derby" versus "The United States Marines", A softball game versus Tampa Bay Lillywhites featuring future Hall Of Fame player Babe Ruth!, A basketball match versus Ft Myers MagicDSU followed later that same year by another American Handball Tournament contested between Brooklyn Dodgers OF Lew Goodstein & Ft Myers MagicDSU Captains Herb Elliott & Andy Stone! It wasn't until 1912 when our very own HVAC contractor named Harry Madden started working for us here locally! His work helped bring about many new amenities to our community like: A baseball diamond funded specifically for local play courtesy of Councilman Ballinger(now Mayor), A public pool funded through a donation from Mrs Beasley(later Mrs George Foster), And finally –still today –a lighting system providing illumination nightly during large events like Our Lady Of La Salette Shrine Masses celebrated HERE IN BELLE GLADE!! All these advancements not only helped improve our economy but made our community even more inviting for visitors looking to enjoy all that Hillsborough County had to offer!
Belle Glade was a small town in south Florida which is now part of the city of Fort Lauderdale. Belle Glade first began to be developed in the early 1800s as a cattle-ranching and land speculating community, with its original name being "Belle Prairie". The area now known as Belle Glade was settled by pioneers from Illinois, who arrived during the Seminole Wars. In 1847, General Andrew Jackson's military expedition against Seminoles in this region destroyed much of what is now Belle Glade. After the war, many settlers remaining in Florida moved to Belle Glade due to its lack of taxes and easy access to water resources. By 1870, most of what is now Belle Glade had been annexed into Fort Lauderdale. The town's first store opened in 1871, and soon became one of the largest in Fort Lauderdale. In 1892, a school was built at Belle Glade for primary grade students only; it served until 1908 when it was replaced by a high school which still operates today. A post office operated here from 1893 until 1912; it was later replaced by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. It wasn't until 1917 that an amusement park called "Belle Isle" began operating on Belle Isle Lake near present day Deerfield Beach Boulevard and 15th Street; it closed down in 1951 afterFFA merged with Walt Disney World Resort. In 1955, when FtLauderdale annexed what is now downtown Fort Lauderdale, parts of what are today Bellevue Drive and Northwest Seventh Avenue were annexed into Belle Glade as well (the annexation happened at about the same time that shopping malls such as Walmart started opening up throughout Broward County). Today most residents live west of 7th Avenue between Rte 95/Upper 10th Street and Sunrise Boulevard/Ninth Street east of 8th Avenue just South of I-95 exit #6B
