In 1904, Mrs Ethel Hirsch established a dress shop at 5th Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard known as The Gilded Cage which became one of the most popular tourist destinations in Belle Glade until it closed its doors in 2003 following allegations that it cheated customers out of money by making them wearuly high prices without providing any discounts or other benefits attached to these sales). From 1903-1904 when Dr Wm Matson operated an ice cream store adjacent to Mrs Hirsch’s shop he also served as its clerk; later he became manager and proprietor; during this time period some locals refer to him simply as “Dr Matson” due to his extensive role at Belle Glade including developing the local grid system for streetlights years before anyone else did so; many residents still refer to him today simply as “Matson” because that is how he has always been referred to locally by most people who have dealings with him directly or indirectly over the years (although there are some notable exceptions such as one local resident who refers to him only using his first initial since he feels it would be more respectful than using Mr or Ms etc.; however even this individual has met Dr Matson face-to-face plenty of times over the years)). In 1922 Dr Jens Christensen purchased land bordering Belle Glade Rd and Cimarron Rd along with building permits for what would become known as Christensen Manor although construction never began due primarily to financial difficulties brought about by World War I & II – instead all efforts were focused onStratford Hall which eventually became home buyer cooperative clubhouse (later renamed Stroud) across from Stratford Hall then finally home ownership cooperative club house (later renamed Belle GlADE) before finally being razed completely in 1985 followingdemolition order from State government).
