The Belle Glade National Guard Museum is a national guard museum in Belle Glade, Florida. It was established in 1984 as the Belle Glade Historical Commission Museum. The museum is open to the public and has exhibits on military history, local history, and American history. Belle Glade was founded on December 12, 1892 by General Philip Sheridan and Colonel Edwin L. Brooke as a small town in Miami-Dade County. The town was named for then-President James K. Polk’s daughter, Belle (whose name means “beautiful”). In 1930, the United States Congress created the Belle Glades National Park in order to protect the area’s natural resources and cultural heritage. The park includes more than 2 million acres of land and over 20 miles of water beaches. The first members of the United States Army arrived in Jacksonville on October 7, 1894 as part of General Sherman's Union Expedition against Confederate forces under General Robert E. Lee! On November 1st that year, Captain John Jumper of Company G1st Ulysses S. Grant's 3rd Ufficial Infantry Regiment became one of the first soldiers from Jacksonville to serve withBG George Armstrong Custer at Fort Donelson during his advance into Tennessee! On February 17th 1898 President Grover Cleveland dedicated what is now known as Fort Pierce Marina to naval operations off Santa Rosa Island when Commodore James Fenton took command there from Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter! Commodore Fenton had earlier been commander at Key West during Porter's abortive expedition against Cuba during January 1898! The city also saw its first motor vehicle traffic when it was announced that Williston Wagon Works would produce two ton drive cars starting July 1st 1899! After World War I ended on September 15th 1918 both militaries pulled out but did not end hostilities which continued until May 25th 1920 when they reopened with USMC detachment commanded by Major General Holland Manned Maneuvers won by navy over army

In 1916, Belle Glade became an incorporated community when all but two of its residents voted unanimously to do so. Belle Glade, Florida is a small town located in Polk County, Florida. It was founded in 1887 by people from Belle Isle, Michigan. The population of Belle Glade was 1,811 at the 2010 census. The community is located on the west side of Lake Okeechobee and includes part of the suburbs of Fort Myers and Davie. Belle Glade has a long history as a farming community. Its first settlers were Norwegian immigrants who arrived in 1857. They started to grow crops and raise livestock and later built homes around what is now Belle Glade Park. After World War II, many families moved to Belle Glade to escape the hard times of America’s post-war decades. Today, Belle Glade remains one of the most diverse communities in Polk County with both early 20th century farmers and recent retirees living among its current residents. The original Bella Vista School was built in 1888 on land donated by founders Elisha Beasley and wife Anna Beasley (1847-1927). The school became known as “Belle Vale” after Mrs. Beasley sold her interest in it to her husband for $1,000 cash upon his death in 1903. In 1907, the school board changed its name to “BelleGlade” after purchasing additional land from MrBeasley for $500 per acre ($24 per square mile). The new name reflected how much better off villagers felt after annexation by Fort Myers two years earlier; they were then considered part of that city rather than an independent village separate from it . In 1934, when Fort Myers merged with Miami into Greater Miami Beach through an act of Congress, all villages within that city lost their own governing councils and became full members under theMiami Beach Board of Education – including Belle Glade which retained its ownSchool District). Over time, however, due to budget cuts at Miami Beach City Hall and competition from other beach towns across South Florida for property tax dollars generated by local businesses such as tourism (the industry now accounting for more than 60%of Beaufort County government revenues), BelleGlade slowly regained some autonomy within Miami Beach until finally being annexed back into Coral Gables proper following Mayor Carlos Gimenez’s failed effort to annex it during his final term in office in 2006 .Today there are no traces remaining evidence that either former municipalities ever functioned any differently other than their respective district levels currently exist today without any real power or governance beyond those levels themselves
