Today, Operation Christmas Tree continues its tradition by bringing together marines from all branches together at Camp Pendleton in San Diego for an event that benefits numerous charities throughout California! This year’s event will include appearances by Commandant General James Amos as well as representatives from each branch of service!

Boca Raton, Florida is a town located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The population was 26,770 at the 2010 census. Boca Raton is the largest city in Palm Beach County and the tenth-largest municipality in Florida. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Boca Raton were Spanish explorers who set out from Santiago de Cuba on October 2, 1513, to explore and trade with the native peoples of South America. They named this new land Santa Fe de la Trinidad because they thought it would be a place where God would dwell. The first European settlement in what is now Boca Raton was made by Captain John Smith on November 7, 1793 during his exploration of Pensacola Bayou system for potential fur trading opportunities with the Seminole Indians. He named this new community Fort Caroline after his patron saint, Caroline of Rome. Boca Raton became an incorporated village on January 3, 1868 under the name "Bocahatchee". A post office called "Bocahatchee" was established at this location on February 11, 1868; it remained in operation until 1959. On July 4th 1892 Mayor Joeseph Pate signed an ordinance creating "Pensacola East" which comprised all that now makes up Boca Raton east of I-95 (the present day airport). This area west of I-95 formed what later became known as North Miami Beach when Pembroke Pines annexed most of former Bocahatchee Township including much of downtown Boca Raton onto its boundaries on December 1st 1926creating North Miami Beach Municipality Incorporation status effective January 1st 1927The annexation also included much of South Park located southwesterly along US 941 just northof current day's Intersection Of Flagler Avenue And NW Third Street
