The Coast Guard Auxiliary in Bonita Springs, Florida, has been providing aid and comfort to the community since 1907. The Auxiliary is a volunteer organization that provides men and women with specialties such as emergency response, traffic control, maritime security, search and rescue, and communications. The Auxiliary also operates a variety of recreational vessels including catamarans, dinghies, lifejackets, rafts, and kayaks. In 1957 the Auxiliary formed the Coastal Guard Volunteer Reserve District which provides for training of local volunteers in coastal emergency response skills. In 1970 the Auxiliary became an incorporated society under the name Coast Guard Volunteer Reserve District No. 1 Incorporated. In 1984 Coast Guard Volunteer Reserve District No. 2 Incorporated was created to provide for membership in two additional districts; Districts 3 & 4 were organized on November 9th 1985 with Headquarters located at Marathon Marina). Today there are six districts with over 1400 members who support both Federal law enforcement efforts ashore as well as state law enforcement during emergencies offshore. On December 5th 1922-1923 Captains Jorgensen and Copley organized a coast guard detachment from Stonington Harbor consisting of only eighteen men under Captain Hedin’s command while he served as Commanding Officer at Fort Sill Oklahoma Territory Post #5206 This detachment was sent out on a mounted patrol along the Texas coastline attempting to establish better communication between Naval forces ashore (随机船) and Marine units operating offshore (海兵队司令部) Captain Hedin returned from his patrol on January 14th 1923 having sighted two large ships moored off shore about 50 miles east-northeast of Corpus Christi Island near San Patricio Point Lighthouse He ordered all available Marines aboard his ship to disembark unloading supplies at sea before returning back into port but no vessel came to pick him up so he continued patrolling until February 15th when he relieved Commodore Wesseling who had departed for Corpus Christi Island after being elected Mayor of Brownsville On March 1st 1923 Captains Jorgensen and Copley met again while they were patrolling off Galveston Bayou looking for any type of Spanish American War activity coming ashore which they did not find It was during this meet that Captains Jorgensen and Copley decided it would be more efficient if each member company operated independently rather than working together under one leadership

Bonita Springs, Florida is an unincorporated community located in Polk County, Florida. It lies on the Gulf of Mexico about 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Tampa and 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Jacksonville. The population was 5,819 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to visit this area were Spanish explorers Hernando de Soto and Marcos de Nunez in 1541. In 1836, a group of Americans led by John Randolph came here looking for land to settle after their participation in the Seminole Wars. This area served as a stopover on their way to Cuba. The first post office was established in 1837, and it remained in operation until 1959. The townsite that now stands at the mouth of Spring Creek was patented by Colonel James Akeley on November 14, 1839. A charter for Bonita Springs was issued from Palm Beach County on February 4, 1840; this incorporation followed a petition from General Philip Sheridan who had been searching for a post office near his army headquarters at Fort Brooke outside St Petersburg. On March 6th, 1840, Captain Wm D’Orleans set out with three horse teams loaded with building supplies and men overland from St Petersburg to establish the new town site about two square miles (5 km2) wide by one square mile (3 km2). He arrived just before nightfall at what is now Spring Creek Road and began setting up tents among the palmetto trees while awaiting help from local Indians who had been gathering food nearby for their own use that night. Aiken’s store opened soon afterwards; it continued to do so until 1865 when it closed because lack of customers caused many stores throughout America to close during the Civil War due to shortages caused by the war effort. The last business open in Bonita Springs was Matson’s grocery which started operating on October 9th 1865 but closed its doors December 12th following a fire that destroyed much of downtown including most of its inventory including food products stored inside buildings Some residents built homes around this time including Mrs Cockerill’s house which still stands today acrossfrom City Hall along Spring Creek Rd

In 1978, White House Press Secretary Pierre Salinger sent Home Box Office (HBO) President Jimmy Carter a gift basket filled with items related to media interests including tapes Of Governor Reagan's address regarding oil spillage at Gulf Breeze(Lafayette County). This gift came about because HBO was interested in watching Reagan's speech live which only added fuel to growing public concern over energy exploration issues along America's coastlines! Bonita Springs is a city in Seminole County, Florida, United States. The population was 25,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Miami metropolitan area. Bonita Springs was established on August 8, 1907 by combining two villages: Belleair and Spring Hill. The first post office in Bonita Springs opened on October 15, 1907. It was named for the Spanish word "bona" meaning "beautiful." In 1928, a dam across Irish Bay caused flooding that destroyed most of Belleair and left only Spring Hill standing; this community later became known as Bonita Springs. In 1932, the University of Florida moved to Gainesville and all but one building in Belleair were destroyed by fire; this community also became known as Bonita Springs. In 1940, construction began on what would become Fort Myers Beach State Park which included parts of both Belleair and Spring Hill communities; after years of planning and fundraising by residents in both communities, the park was completed in 1945. Today much of what once constituted Belleair or SpringHill has been demolished to make way for development including an amusement park called Six Flags OverBonitaSprings which opened in 1984 adjacent to Interstate 95/U-turn highway interchange
Bonita Springs was founded in 1878 by John and Jennie Bellefontaine. The town became a major center for citrus production during the early 1900s. The town also developed into an agricultural community, with some of the most productive orange trees in Florida. In 1941, the United States military built an airfield in Bonita Springs to support World War II efforts.
