The event features more than 100 different coffee vendors from all over the United States and Canada. It also includes a variety of food booths, art exhibits, music concerts, and more. Gourmet Coffee Festival started as a way to promote local businesses and to give back to the community. Today, it’s one of the most popular events in town.

Bonita Springs has been a center for coffee since the 1800s. The first coffee house in town was founded by Captain John Stiles in 1809. In 1835, James W. Cobb opened the first commercial store in Bonita Springs, and soon became well-known for his excellent quality beans. In 1886, George Hatton started the first grocery store in Bonita Springs. Today, there are several popular coffee shops located throughout the city including The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Joe's Coffee House, and The Pump House Brewing Company
Bonita Springs, Florida is a small town in Palm Beach County, Florida. The population was 7,814 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Bonita" comes from Spanish and means "beautiful." The springs that make up the town were named for General Antonio Bonilla who fought in the Mexican-American War and later became United States Senator from Florida. The first post office in Bonita Springs opened on December 1, 1907. In 1916, citrus growers began to arrive in Bonita Springs and start producing fruit trees. A large citrus orchard was built on land adjacent to present-day downtown Bonita Springs. In 1922, a movie theater was built by Fenton Manufacturing Company on Fourth Street near State Road 508 (now US 95). The theater was used as a storage facility until it burned down in 1978. Afterward, it served as an art museum before being bought by local developer Frank Moseley and renovated into what is now known as the Moseley Arts Center (formerly called the Old Hollywood Casino). It reopened as the bonitas springs arts center on October 2, 2017 after many years of renovation/addition including new entrances, rehearsal space for local ballet companies and more than 12 acres of landscaping with public art spaces throughout!

Bonita Springs is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to visit present-day Bonita Springs was Captain John Smith on October 14, 1763. He and his party of thirteen men were the first Europeans to set eyes on what would become today's Palm Beach County. Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León also stopped here in 1592 while exploring what is now Tampa Bay area for Spain. In 1693, Captain John Stedman explored this area and named it "Stedman's Spring". On December 8, 1821, Governor James Kiefer approved a plat for an extensive cotton plantation known as "Bonita Springs". Andrew Jackson purchased this land from its original owner on July 3, 1828 for $1 per acre. This early cotton plantation lasted until about 1830 when it was sold to Colonel David Bigham who moved it to West Palm Beach where he began building a mansion which became Bigham Hall today. After Colonel Bigham's death in 1868 his widow continued to live there until her death in 1901; she bequeathed her home and land to the city of Fort Lauderdale which has since developed it into one of Broward County's most popular tourist destinations. A street located adjacent to Bigham Hall bears her name: Mrs. David Bigham Boulevard
In the early 1800s, Bonita Springs was a small town in north Florida. The area now known as Bonita Springs was first settled by Native American peoples. In 1803, Spanish settlers arrived in what is now Bonita Springs and founded a mission called San Pedro de Alcantara. The mission was destroyed in 1835 by Seminole Indians, who also burned down the mission's church. In 1847, Englishman John Snedden founded an agricultural colony in what is now downtown Bonita Springs. Snedden named his settlement after his wife,bonitaville (blessed be her name). By 1850, bonitaville had grown to over 1,000 people and became one of the most important settlements in northeast Florida. In 1861, Confederate soldiers burned down the post office and courthouse in downtownBonita Springs after being ordered to do so by Governor Andrew Johnson because he felt the town was aiding the Union cause. When Florida became a U.S. state on Feb 3rd 1959,Bonita Springsspanish population numbered only about 50 residents including 14 Mexican nationals who were brought over for work at Everglades National Park during that time period
