The Boynton Beach Air Force Base is home to the United States Air Force Academy, which has been providing air service to the community for over 60 years. The base was originally established in 1917 and its mission has always been to provide a safe and haven for military personnel and their families. Today, the base offers more than just an air force presence; it also provides access to many recreational activities, including hiking and biking trails, as well as golf courses. One of the most memorable moments at Boynton Beach AFB happened on July 20th, 1943 when members of the 3d Bombardment Group (the First B-29 Wing) successfully dropped supplies over Hollandia Island in New Guinea. This event is often cited as one of the most successful missions in history. In 1951, Boynton Beach AFB became part of Tactical Air Command (TAC), which remained active until 1992 when it was renamed 8th Air Force. After 8th AF's departure from Boynton Beach AFB, much activity took place at nearby Miramar Field where fighter/ bomber squadrons such as the 559th Fighter-Bomber Squadron were activated during this time period. In 2006, Miramar Field closed its doors after serving its last operational mission with Republic F-16 Fighting Falcons aircraft. Today,Boynton Beach AFB continues to play an important role in the lives of local residents by providing them with world-class air force capabilities that can make a real difference in their lives. Boynton Beach, Florida is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Boynton Beach is located on the eastern edge of the Miami metropolitan area and straddles both the Miami–Dade county line and Broward County. The name "Boynton" comes from Bedlington Place in Northumberland, England which was once part of the Plantation of Southwark (now called Fashington). John H. Boynton acquired this land in 1892. In 1907, he donated two lots in what is now downtown Boynton Beach to make it a town site. The first mayor of Boynton Beach was W C Goode who served from 1912 to 1916. In 1948, Dr J B Hill renovated and enlarged the First Baptist Church which still stands today as one of downtown Boynton Beach's most popular tourist attractions. Many people in central Florida attribute their love for beach culture to Dr Hill's ministry there beginning back in 1948 until his death in 1997. In 1967, businessman/politician Charlie Crist became Mayor of Miami Dade after defeating incumbent Tom Bradley by a wide margin; however, due to term limits set forth by then-Governor Mario Diaz Jr., Crist did not serve out his full term and failed to achieve re-election five years later; Broward County Sheriff Helen Markey took office as his replacement effective January 1st 1999 after winning an election unopposed due to her gender discrimination compliance with state law that prohibited women from holding elected office within their county or district without first achieving a signature from at least one half-dozen male legislators representing those counties includingbroward; therefore Markey effectively ran unopposed for another four year term before she eventually lost her seat during November 5th 2002 when Republican Party candidate Carlos Gutierrez easily won against Democrat nominee Patricia Todd despite allegations that campaign funds were improperly spent on personal expenses such as travel costs associated with an upcoming gubernatorial campaign trip to Mexico City where Gutierrez had been scheduled to speak but instead he attended a function sponsored by thenBrowardRepublican Chairman Reuben Wilson instead

Here are some examples of how the USAF has helped make a difference in our world: In 1940, when America entered World War II, the USAAF was only 2nd in size after the RAF (Royal Air Force). However, it had over 1 million pilots and bombers. By 1945, it had grown to become one of the most powerful militaries on earth with over 65 000 planes operating worldwide. The USAF was instrumental in leading America into victory in WWII. In particular, the RAF was unable to mount an effective attack against American forces thanks to their poor flying conditions and lack of aircraft carriers; however, American fighter pilots- led by veterans such as Jimmy Doolittle- defeated them decisively. The USAAF also played a major role in helping bring about Allied victory at home - bombing strategic targets such as Hamburg and Tokyo - which helped preserve democracy throughout Japan while sparing millions more lives overall. As part of post-war reconstruction efforts following WWII, Congress passed what is now called the Truman Executive Order 9981 which authorized support for economic recovery via various forms of assistance including loans from American banks and foreign currencies being accepted by other countries for military goods purchased through those banks. This gave rise to what is now known as "air commerce" or sales between nations through air travel; this was especially beneficial during times of war when goods could not be transported across oceans due to enemy activity or blockadeade

Boynton Beach was founded in 1935 by J.D. Boynton and his father, William Boynton. The town name is derived from the Indian word "bung" meaning "pool." The Boynton family used to farm in nearby Fort Myers and boycotted cotton because it was a slave-based industry. In 1935, J.D. Boynton built an oil well at the corner of 1st Street and Flagler Avenue and began selling gasoline to cars on Sunrise Boulevard. In 1941, he opened a dry goods store on 3rd Street called the "Super Store." The store became a regional center for grocery shopping until its closure in 1984. By 1945, the population of Boynton Beach had reached 2,000 people and it rapidly grew into a large city with over 10,000 residents by 1971 when it merged withFort Myers to form Miami-Dade County. In recent years,Boynton Beach has become known as one of the most vibrant communities in all of Florida for its wide variety of culture, history, outdoor activities and nightlife options that make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Florida! Boynton Beach was incorporated as a city on November 5, 1922. The city's first mayor, Clyde H. Boynton, served from 1923 to 1929. The first annexation of land in the city was made by the Boynton Beach City Council on December 12, 1923. The population of Boynton Beach increased rapidly from its original population of just over 100 people in 1922 to over 2,000 by 1928. On November 5, 1922, Boynton Beach voters passed an ordinance annexing all of unincorporated Pinellas County east of Broward Boulevard into the city limits. In 1938, a new water main and pipeline were constructed within the boundaries of the city and annexed into it with no vote by residents or councilors required; this marked the beginning of what is now known as "Boynton Beach's Waterfront".[1] In 1959/1960 Hurricane Irene caused extensive damage to businesses and homes within the city limits; however, no injuries or fatalities occurred as a result. As a result of this storm Boynton Beach implemented several ordinances which would later become state law: These included creating a fire code and banning smoking indoors (the ban being lifted ten years later).
