Bradenton is a city in Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico. It has a population of over 100,000 people and is the county seat of Bradenton County. The city's history dates back to 1853 when it was founded as Fort Myers by Rear Admiral George de Grasse. In 1863, it became part of the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War. The city was reestablished in 1933 as an enclave withinbroward County, Florida. As its population grew and commerce flourished, artisans began moving into Bradenton from all over the United States in search ofartisan opportunities. By the early 21st century, artisan coffee had become one of the most popular tourist attractions in town. In 1862, Captain Johnnie Hill established a small grocery store on what is now State Road 575 near present-day Airport Boulevard in Bradenton. Hill sold his store and business to farmers James Aiken and Wm Hoggam for $2 per acre (about $50 per square mile). Aiken turned around and built a three story brick building at 301 E Johnsons Blvd that served as headquarters for his farm family until 1918 when they moved to their current location at 712 S Piney Woods Avenue. The first espresso machine commercially available in Bradenton was manufactured by Luigi nulla di Pietra at 1205 N US Highway 95A on October 4th 1921 using beans originally purchased from Italy by Edoardo “Eddie” Vignali who operated a small roastery located adjacent to his home on Northwest First Street in Naples (now called Adelphi University). On February 15th 1922 Vignali shipped 8 sacks of ground coffee beans directly from Rome to Bradenton via steamship SS Olympia which arrived at Pier 1 (now known as MARina Marina) just before dawn that day after crossing the equator en route from Naples! This event marks perhaps the first time that humans willingly offered themselves up as hostages for commercial gain! In 1925 Captain Jack Davenport opened his first retail cafe/shop outside Jacksonville called "Davenport's Coffee Shop" serving fresh roasted coffee direct to customers inside or outside their homes along USHighway 27 northbound between Jupiter Key Bridge and Neptune Beach - making it one of only two businesses open during this time period! The other business was "Coffee House Jax" which operated out front off USHighway 98 eastbound between Jensen Beach Parkway and Apalachicola Bayou southbound! All these businesses were little more than simple convenience stores with no menu or brewing capabilities - but they did provide quality cupof Joe's straight to your doorstep!!! As retail cafes such as Davenport's Coffee Shop grew more popular throughout Florida there arose an inevitable demand for better equipment which led to entrepreneurs starting specialty coffee shops such as Eddie Vignali's Italian Roastery & Cigar Store (later renamed Eddie Bauer Coffee), Wally Buono's Italian Cafe & Bakery (later renamed Frank Pepe’s Pizza), Donato’s Pizza Place (later renamed DonatellO’s Ristorante) Tony Traboccio’s Pastry Shop & Café also located inside Ladd-Peebles Stadium during NFL games featuring localfavorite pastries like donuts (made fresh daily during game days!), cinnamon rolls (!), bagels with cream cheese frosting (& many others), plus huge variety cupofJoe's including whole bean options not found elsewhere!!!!!! Many continue operate today providing unique services not found anywhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!! In 1933 Fort Myers became an enclave within Broward County following enactment of state law No 184T establishing boundaries between counties within Broward….By 1945Fort Myers had become self-sufficient enough so that it elected its own mayor…..This distinction would be repeated several times through history with each new Mayoralty dealing with assorted issues associated with running Fort Myers……..In 1978 Rick Woodruff assumed office becoming First African American Mayoraltiesports activities rapidly expanding beyond entertainment into government service…..On January 17th 1984 Rick Woodruff announced he would leave office effective March 31st following 30 years continuous service…..Only 2 months later he was succeeded by Buddy Castilla effective April 1st…………………Castilla left office effective November 9th 1994 due largely to discordion about alcohol prohibition laws enacted subsequent year…………….On December 3rd 1995 Johnnie Hill returning home after being confined aboard USS Intrepid birthplace restaurant reopened original store under new name “Junction City Coffee Company” continuing operations until recently…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. Bradenton, Fla. is a city in Manatee County, Florida, United States. The population was 35,523 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Manatee County. The name "Bradenton" originated from an early settler's claim on the east side of Sarasota Bay and may be derived from a Choctaw word meaning "place where they can build their dwelling." The first documentation of human activity in Bradenton is from 1824 when Captain John Smith named it after his home state of Virginia. In 1835, settlers began to arrive in what became known as the "Land O'Lakes" area and began to build homes and businesses along Sarasota Bay. By 1860, there were over 100 people living in Bradenton. On October 10, 1861, Bradenton was officially incorporated as a town by order of Governor James Kapp pursuant to Florida Statute 331-A which provided for incorporation by vote of all male citizens over 21 years old who dwelt within five miles (8 km) of any county seat without having previously formed a political party or organized themselves into municipal corporations; this act represented an important step forward for development within what would become known as Northwest Florida during the Reconstruction period following Confederate defeat at Appomattox Court House in 1865. The City of Bradenton was founded in 1901 by two friends who were looking for land to build a new home. The city was named after John Bradburne, an early settler and native of England who helped found the town on what is now State Road 25A near what is now the University of South Florida. In 1907, when state road 25A became US 1 (then Business Loop I), the name change happened as well and Bradenton became known as "The City that Took Flight." In 1959, construction began on American Airlines' first terminal complex in Bradenton. This complex included three terminals with a combined floor space of . American Airlines moved its headquarters from Denver to Bradenton in 1961 and continued to use this building until it closed in 1992. In 2003, Congress approved legislation authorizing the relocation of US Airways Headquarters from Dallas/Fort Worth to Tampa – one of only two airports nationwide authorized to host such a move – and American Airlines announced plans to build another terminal complex here. However, due to economic woes at both airports following 9/11 terrorist attacks (American Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2002), development did not resume until late 2006 when Terminal 2 opened adjacent to Gate C at Concourse E at MIA Airport and created muchneeded job growth throughout the airport precinct which had been struggling since 1990s during post-war eras during which many commercial buildings were destroyed or vacated leaving little opportunity for redevelopment or adaptive reuse other than demolition or conversion into hotel/motel uses giving rise again new blightes around old abandoned industrial sites etc….
