In 1895, the first Dutch Schultz opened a small grocery store in Cape Coral. By 1912, Schultz had become one of the largest coffee dealers in the United States. The industry grew rapidly during World War I because of Allied troop demand for caffeine before they were deployed to fight in Europe. The war led to increased production and exports of coffee beans; by 1919, Cape Coral was home to more than 20 coffee factories producing between two and four million pounds of coffee per year. The Roaring Twenties saw growth for the coffee industry as well; by 1929, there were over 30 cafes operating throughout Sarasota County. However, the 1930s were difficult for America's struggling economy; this led to decreased production and exports of coffee beans as well as layoffs for workers at some factories. However, due to rising prices for beans and investment into new technology initiatives within the bean-processing industry, production rebounded by 1944; by that point, there were nearly 50 cafes operating throughout Sarasota County employing more than 500 people. During World War II (1939-1945), espresso machines became increasingly popular among troops stationed in Florida; however, many cafes did not adopt this type of machine until later on when it became easier and more affordable to do so. In 1948-1949, South Beach Coffee Company (SBOC) replaced RoaringTwenties Coffee Company asthe leading gourmet coffee company in Sarasota County thanks largely to their innovative marketing strategies which targeted military personnel stationed at Camp Lejeune Naval Base near Fort Myers Beach who preferred quality java over instant products available at nearby souvenir shops frequented by civilians There are now several SBOC locations scattered across various parts of Florida including Naples/Marco Island/Kissimmee/Treasure Coast etc., but its original location remains nestled amongst palm trees off US 27A just south Of Naples’ main shopping district

The area now known as Cape Coral was first settled by Africans in 1795 as part of what is now Volusia County. In 1836, the area became part of Fort Brooke when it was established on the mainland after U.S. Commodore James Kenedy's unsuccessful attempt to build an American military presence in Cuba during that year's war for independence from Spain. Cape Coral proper was founded on December 4, 1868 by Jno Elam Bamberger and his wife Lucy Bamberger as a port on Haley’s Seat Key after efforts by local residents to make this happen were thwarted by General John Cushing's US military garrison at Fort Brooke which refused to relinquish its land for any purpose other than defense against Spanish incursions into northern America. The town became self-supporting within two years and soon grew rapidly with imported African slaves becoming its mainstay workforce with most white supremacists opting instead to work on nearby plantations or in nearby Tampa Bay while enjoying all the benefits enjoyed by their black counterparts such as education and health carefree until the late 1800s when laws passed prohibiting slave trading led many freedmen to head northward seeking opportunities elsewhere in America before being stopped definitively by Confederate forces at Appomattox Court House Maryland near Richmond Virginia on April 9 1865 ending eleven years of peaceful free expression among Americans via unofficially sanctioned peace negotiations between Abraham Lincoln and Confederate Generals Robert ELee and Stonewall Jackson who had agreed not to fight anyone except each other until they jointly won control of all southern states minus Georgia where slavery continued despite statehood granted to both North Carolina and South Carolina following a referendum held November 12th 1859 contingent upon Union victories over Confederate generals Southerners failed due largely because Northern Republicans chose not run for office fearing civil unrest should they be elected leading Yankee President Andrew Johnson who took office July 1st 1865 re-elected only due to events leading up to it promising much more serious consequences if anything actually happened tried implementing Reconstruction policies failing miserably so far The current incarnation of Cape Coral dates back onlyto 1907 when Captain Wm Aiken leased 15 acres (6 hectares) offshore from Captain John Suckling’s wharfage concession along Coconut Grove Lagoon just south of downtown providing access from Samaritan Key beach through channels built across high tide flats onto which materials were drawn for masonry construction including churches, schools, hospitals/laboratories etc...the wharfage expired in 1916 butCaptain Wm Aiken still has exclusive rights today over channel access plus use of associated flatboats including catamarans available for charter or private Use

In 1665, while trying to capture a Spanish ship off Cape Coral, Florida, Englishman Sir John Hawkins discovered what he thought was a stranded Spanish vessel. He quickly realized it was an American fishing boat and sailed back towards Cuba with his men in tow.
