The Air Force has always played an important role in the region, and Casselberry is no exception. The first military installation in Brightwater was established here in World War II, and the AFB has continued to grow and change since then. Today, the Air Force Academy is located within the boundaries of Casselberry AFB, as well as a number of subordinate installations throughout the southeast Florida area. Air force gift history can be traced back to World War II when Brightwater Army Airfield was established to provide air support for Allied troops fighting in Europe. Casselberry, Florida is a small town located in Polk County, Florida. The population was 1,539 at the 2000 census and 1,844 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. Casselberry is bordered by Lake Wales to the north, Clearwater to the east, Jupiter to the south and west, and Stonington to the northwest. The first people who lived in this area were Creek Indians who hunted and gathered food along with other activities that aided their way of life. They were replaced by Spanish colonists in 1763 who built Fort Myers on Biscayne Bay as a trading post between Spain and North America. A year later they founded Mobile Bay colony on what is now Pensacola Beach while Spanish troops defended Mobile from attack by American forces under Generalín de la Fayette in 1813 during the Mexican-American War. In 1821 they established Jacksonville as an independent county withinethyl Florida Territory which became state of Florida in 1828 after Ulysses S Grant won three presidential elections as part of his Compromise of 1850 deal ending Reconstruction following Alabama’s secession from United States. Casselberry started as a small community near where Interstate 95 now meets US 41 which connected Jacksonville with Indian Key Village on Biscayne Bay for shipping supplies arriving overland from Mexico City through those areas then across Pensacola Bay before reaching Tampa via boatloads of goods unloaded at Jaxport Landing on Clearwater River before being conveyed by carts or horse drawn vehicles upriver past present day Old US 41 bridge over White Sands River into mobile County for collection by farmers thereabouts before being delivered back downriver for local sale either fresh or cured fish etc., until market demand waned or no longer existed; finally becoming a “dry” community during Depression years when most agricultural production shifted to growing fruits & vegetables instead & local water supply dwindled making it difficult even for earliest pioneers to maintain much more than subsistence level living conditions even if able Struggling somewhat thereafter Despite numerous attempts thru governmental programs (elected officials) & outside groups (& many personal sacrifices) over many years culminating with establishment of Casselberry First Nation Tribal Council/Community Development Agency effective January 1st 2018 CASselberry remains an unincorporated community inhabited principally by descendants of early pioneer families

Casselberry is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando metropolitan area. The Casselberry post office was established in 1875 and remains in operation today. The name comes from the French name for an apple orchard near Bordeaux. Casselberry had its first settler in 1879 when James Sowers moved to what is now Casselberry from Georgia with his wife and seven children. Sowers founded a general store on Main Street which he named "Somerset" after his grandfather who also came to Polk County in that year. In 1903, A&P grocery store opened across the street from Somerset's General Store and quickly became one of the most important stores in town. It closed in 1977 but reopened as Waffle House under new management several years later before closing again in 2000. The old schoolhouse located north of town was built in 1925 and serves as a museum today. It also served as the provisional courthouse during much of this time until it was replaced by the current courthouse which opened in 2006. The post office has been closed since 1984 due to low mail volume so all letters sent here are delivered electronically nowadays through USPS' e-mail service instead (although some older letter types such as telegrams still may be sent). However, some periodicals such as "Florida Weekly" remain printed here including issues starting back before 1984 although no longer published digitally - they are instead archived at www2/polkcountyflorida/. Casselberry experienced significant growth beginning around 1960 when developers began purchasing tracts of land along State Road 725 just east of town for development into caseloads of subdivisions known collectively as "Cassellby." While many residents have long memories of their childhood home demolitions (elderly residents still refer to these days euphemistically as "renovations"), there has never been any organized opposition nor any attempt to stop these developments other than occasional protests by individuals or groups who feel that their homes were taken without proper compensation or notification given to them about impending demolitions; however, almost all cases have ended peacefully with both property owners and developers coming to an agreement about how best to proceed with redevelopment plans without causing too much disruption or anger among citizens living nearby though occasional skirmishes do take place occasionally while signs reading "No Demolitions Please" can be seen day & night throughout these neighborhoods bordering on downtown Casselberry
Casselberry is located in Polk County, Florida. The community was founded in 1885 and named for General James K. Cassel, who served as a general in the Union army during the American Civil War. The first homes were built in the area around what is now Casselberry Elementary School and Cypress Grove Baptist Church.
