Casselberry, Florida is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville–Monroe Metropolitan Statistical Area. Casselberry was founded in 1892 by Cornelius Cassel and his family as a citrus village. In 1906 it was renamed for General George A. Marshall, who had been secretary of war under Franklin D. Roosevelt and helped to win World War II for the United States. The town became an incorporated municipality in 1907 and boundaries were changed again in 1924 when it annexed parts of Fort Pierce Municipal Airport to form its current limits. In 1956 the community moved from its original location on Sugar Pine Key to what is now called Northwest corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Indian River Parkway due to increasing development around the airport (the area now known as Lindenwood). The post office closed in 1984 but reopened in 1985 with a new name - Casselberry Post Office & Shopping Center - which remains today. A time capsule was buried at Pompano Beach State Park on October 6th, 2007 with old documents and photos dating back to 1890 including newspapers from that year still inside!

In 1892, the railroad was purchased by the Florida Central Railway and it continued to be used until 1915. In 1907, Casselberry became one of the first towns to be incorporated in Florida. In 1912, a women's club was organized in the town and is still active today. The population of Casselberry peaked at around 10,000 in 1920 but has since been declining steadily. Today, there are only a few hundred residents living within the limits of Casselberry itself. The town’s history can be found primarily through its associated businesses and organizations which have had a significant impact on local culture over time
