According to the 2000 US Census, Casselberry had a population of 705 people living without housing or reported no occupation other than Farming/ ranching; however, as of the 2010 census there were 1,912 residents within CASELBERRY'S ZIP CODE 84634 which includes Cassels Berry Elementary School (grades K-8), Baptist Church (Church of God), First Baptist Church (First Baptist), American Legion Post No 910 (USO Hall), Community Pool & Wellness Center & Casino Resort - now known as "Cassell's Place" - Park Place Dr., Clubhouse #1 - now known as "Doris's Cafe", Village Landing Shopping Center - now known as "Linda's Diner", Panther Point Golf Course which is also home to WPBF-TV 11 NewsChannel 5 NewsRadio 610 AM with studios located on Patton Point Road between Panther Point Boulevard and Valley View Drive - golf course members can access their membership privileges through Gate Garters at each hole bunker while playing.; two gas stations were also open throughout this time period: Popsicle Corner Store on Patton Point Road east of Linda's Diner towards Olathe Rd., ExxonMobil gasoline station south of Linda's Diner on Valley View Drive near Donelson Rd., both stores closed after 2009 when Interstate 495 got extended north past Cassels Berry into Polk County

The original settlers in what is now Casselberry were farmers and their families who migrated from Tennessee in the early 1800s. There are several theories about where Casselberry originated - one suggests that it was named after Captain James Cook's first landing on Tampa Bay in 1794, while another suggests that it was named for Baron von Casselhausen, a German nobleman who purchased land here in 1824. In 1842, Colonel John Capps established a post office within what is now Casselberry and named it after himself - this name remained until 1918 when it was changed to its current moniker of "Casselberry". In 1902-1903, work began on building the first school in Casselberry - this building still stands today and serves as the town's only public school. The first store opened here also in 1902-1903.
