Casselberry, Florida is a small town in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,663 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. Casselberry was founded in 1894 by settlers who came from Holland and England. The first post office was established in 1895. In 1916, Casselberry had a population of just ninety residents. However, with the influx of troops during World War I, the population grew rapidly to 1,500 by 1920. In 1950 Casselberry became an unincorporated community when it merged with two other communities – Boca Raton and Pembroke Pines – to form the Town of Casselberry (later renamed Hillsborough). For many years until after Hurricane Irma struck in September 2017, Casselberry was one of only two communities in Hillsborough County without any main street named for an individual military or public figure; the other being Hialeah Beach. TheCasselsberry Post Office opened on October 6th 1909 and closed on December 5th 1975 due to lack of customers. The current post office building was built in 1976 and operates as a cultural center until now including classes for local history buffs and artists

Casselberry was founded in 1837 by Captain Augustus Cassel and his wife, Lisa. The town was named for General John F. Kennedy, who had fought in the Seminole Wars. In 1859, the Kennedy family moved to Florida and began farming there. The Cascais brothers purchased the farm in 1892 and renamed it Casselberry after their father’s home country of Portugal. The first post office in Casselberry was established in 1861. By 1920, the population of Casselberry had totaled about 1,500 people. After a fire destroyed much of the downtown business district in 1922, the town developed a new commercial area that is still known today as “the heart of Casselberry”. In 1925-1926, local businessmen organized a state fair which became one of the most popular events in Casselberry history. This annual fair attracted more than 20,000 visitors and made caselberry an important center for commerce and culture during this time period. After World War II ended with Japan's surrender on September 2, 1945, many military veterans returned to America and started businesses in what is now Casselberry. Some notable businesses include Allied Biscuit Works LLC (now part of Nabisco), Sunoco Gas Station & Pump Co., Pabst Brewing Company (later sold to Coca Cola), First National Bank ( later merged into Wells Fargo ), KFC fast food restaurant/ carnival rides/theatreride etc.. After years of growth and development from these early businesses through hard work and dedication by many individuals and families who lived or worked here,cassel Berry reached its current level of success over two hundred years ago when it incorporated as a municipality on January 14th 1915 under the name “Casselsborough”
Casselberry was founded in 1892 as a citrus fruit farm. In 1907, the Casselberry Cattle Company was founded and grew to become one of the largest livestock companies in Florida. The company continued to grow until it merged with Holleys Dairy in 1978. In that year, Casselberry became an incorporated town.
